This is my first Reach map. (Forge World not Boardwalk, after previewing and changing things this got messed up). Asymmetrical. Play tested over 2 weeks with a few friends. Wake: Designed to be a team slayer map or small slayer map, but things expanded larger and larger. The map supports up to 16 but is still turns out some pretty interesting cat and mouse 2-4 player games. Recommended 6-12. The map has 5 "ground" level routes, flooded (awesome) lower level, and lots of jumps and movement options for the high ground. The map has been refined to balance for all player types. Jet-packs have excellent movement options, but are particularly vulnerable to precision weapons, which there are two sniper roosts on both sides of the map. To counter sniper supremacy this map has a LOT of cover and alternate routes to get to the same location but very defined combat focused zones. There are several platforming areas which allow flanking on both sides of the map but require a little figuring out. (traffic cones are your friends for pointing out these types of places) Both sides have the same weapons, with the concussion rifle and grenade launcher in the center. This map has a little bit of everything including some awesome action in the wake. Feedback is appreciated and if you want to host a game with this map I would love to join in and see what can be done to make this fun map a great map or what I can do to make a better future map. (gamertag: onedeviantsfate) Updated: Taking into account several suggestions and dislikes about the map the red base, central and water areas have been redesigned. All paths lead to the center or bases. Players who wonder will eventually wonder into the "killing floor" in the middle. These people hate this map. You can't just run out into the open... you will die. Weapons: 2x focus rifles concussion rifle plasma sword grenade launcher 2x plasma repeater 2x spiker 2x needle rifle 2x sniper rifle 2x assault rifle 2x DMR 2x magnums Warning this map is fairly large. Infection mode added... recommended only if you know the map... or are willing to actually fight the infected. Hiding works on this map... all areas have multiple approaches. Left side view of the current design New Red Base Right area (from red base). Platforming on the left using jetpacks, man cannon for fast travel on foot and fortifications. Plasma Sword spawns a minute and a half into the game on top of the little base here. Requires fancy jumping, but nothing to challenging. Slightly redesigned center (killing floor). Now has an overhang to mimic the player movement from rooftop to rooftop on the left side. Grav lift issue has been fixed. Were this map gets its name. The water portion that takes place in the wake. WARNING: bullets don't travel through water well in this game... take waves into account! New teleporter and walkway under the blue base. 2/3s of the level visible in this overview.
I will try to get more, trying to figure out the best way to cover the whole map. Since it is basically multiple levels, but will post one from the opposing side. Most of the pics I had were during development when I thought things were finished and had to revise.
