Recently I got Microsoft Expression Studio 2 and I've never had anything like Microsoft Expression Design, so I was playing around for a while when I made this, tell me what you think:

Personally I prefer the first one. Also, I don't know why there is white around the edges, there isn't on imageshack.

The white part is really distracting, I'd just turn the opacity down a little on that, the first looks more professional, the one with the chick looks a little less dark, try darkening it more, btw good choice of image in the second :p.

What white part is distracting? If you mean the white around the edges, I don't know why it appears.

I think he means the white in the middle. It is really bright. And they are nice.

I suggest making the white block in the middle grey and turn the opacity down to like 20-30% or whatever looks good yet still visible.

I've uploaded the v2's now, I've swapped the white for a slightly darker grey and set the opacity to about 70%, however for some reason there appears the be quite a thick white line in the middle, I'll try make that disappear later.
