    Map Title: Urban Warfare
Fight for every inch of ground in this ruin of a city.

    Download Map: Urban Warfare
    Download Gametype: Take And Hold

    Story:

'3 days ago, thats when it happened. It started with the sounds of distant gunfire, which soon spread, engulfing the whole city. Frantic fire fights broke out in every street and on every rooftop between the city defence force and the mysterious attackers. Block by block, they took control of the city, and soon we had nothing left to defend, leaving the suvivors no choice other than to flee.

The military has ordered a full scale attack to reclaim what is rightfully ours, and now we are headed back into the outskirts of the city.

We shall make them pay in blood for every inch of ground they have taken from us.....'

    Description:

So, this map is designed to look like a ruined section of a city, and the gametype I made for it is a one sided territories game, with one team trying to retake the city, and the other trying to defend it.

I tried to recreate a more realistic feel to the game, so players have low damage resistance, a slower movement speed, and higher gravity.

The attacking team spawns in two seperate locations in the map, with several territories spread accross the map for them to capture.

    Attacker spawn 1.

    Attacker spawn 2.

The defenders spawn accross the map, and have immediate access to an armoury, and a teleporter that leads to several random locations on the rooftops. This advantage is to represent the defenders having dug in to protect their prize.

    Defenders spawn.

Some screenshots from accross the map:

Shoot the propane tanks to move the warthog out the way.

    More territories for the taking.

    Main street.

Hastily set up defences, just asking to be blown apart.

    Side alleyway.

I cannot stress enough, watch the rooftops.

    Respawning:

The gametype uses a 2 second increase on respawn times, and a limit of 10 lives per round, so players need to keep up momentum, as teams respawn on allied captures.

    Tactics:

    Attackers:

-Watch the rooftops, as the defenders have easy access to them, and can quickly kill you with BR's and sniper rifles.
-Work as a team to capture territories, and increase your chances of success.
-The defenders can never respawn if they run out of lives, as they have no territories to capture, so use this to your advantage.

    Defenders:

-Use the weapons at your disposal to attack the enemy from the rooftops.
-If any enemy players are out of lives, prevent their team from capturing territories, preventing them from respawning.
-Try to use hit and run tactics and good teamwork to preserve you limited lives.

Well, thats about it, i hope you like the map and game, and i would appreciate any constructive criticism and/or compliments.

(EDIT: Since taking the screenshots for this post, i have made some very slight alterations to the map design and weapon placement.)
(EDIT: Added 5 second invulnerability on respawning and removed teleporters above respawn points to prevent spawn killing. Also moved the attackers sniper rifle and rocket launcher into neutral areas of the map to improve balance.)

Alright, As far as I see, very little interlocking, no geomerging and it could very well use those. Although the map looks pretty cool I HATE, I repeat, HATE the fact that you made "Hastily Set up Defenses" just because you were being a bit lazy. And yes I see that it holds a little bit strategic value, but I can picture you in forge just putting a truck and then stacking stuff up around it.
    Either way, 2.5/5.

I disagree with skulltooth This map doesnt need any more merging or geomerging not every map does and the truck blockade thing is really cool it adds a cool feel to the map. I like the side alley on the one side with the barrels and stuff. I like that the map is open in some places it gives some good areas to use the turrets. The area around the territories are good to because you wont have people camping around them they actually have to fight off people. The warthog thing is cool to I like when you have to do stuff to move blockades out of the way.

    I Like the map.
    3.5/5

hey man, this is a good idea and everything but i think that you could do much better on it. It could use a little more interlocking to not make it so messy, I know it's supposed to look messy but trust me,it would be so much better witha little interlocking.

Very cool idea of urban territories. This map actually looks like it could be fun. The only thing I don't like is the "armory" because from your description it seems as if the defenders are very over powered. I would maybe limit some of the weapons on the map and interlock a bit. 3.5/5

In reply to LAXER, i have taken some weapons out of the armoury, and the defenders advatage in weapons is made up for with the fact that they only have 10 lives, whilst the attackers can always respawn on a allied capture even when out of lives.

Firstly, the main reason why i didn't use much interlocking and no geomerging was simply because i would have probably messed it up, so i just decided to play it safe.
Secondly, yes i did just stack stuff on top of a truck, i did it to try and give the map a more ramshackle, ruined feel, if i was just being lazy, i would have left an empty space there instead.
