Release Notes Other Creative Force Links: Breakout Initiative | Attack & Defend Breakout Decal Trick Pt. I | Decal Trick Pt. II Partnerships: A group of lobby hosts, forgers, and gaming pros working together to create a stable testing environment and QA pipeline for the Halo 5 Forge Community. Spoiler: About Creative Force Creative Force came about with the intention of establishing a group of content creators with diversified skills and a process in which those skills are utilized to create and iterate high quality content. Currently, our focus is on Halo 5’s Forge, the latest iteration of the tool that this community has learned and been shaped by since it’s inception with Halo 3. Some of us have been around through it all, even though we were not well known by the community or active in it. Since then, a loose network of contacts became the community we know today, and it’s been quite the ride, with many highs and lows, and different groups and friendships solidifying and falling apart along the way. Those of us in Creative Force took notice of what collaboration has brought to the table over the years, and have decided to take that to the next level, with consistent processes and contact. We strive to set a high bar for quality in both playability and visual presentation, but this can be mistaken for elitism, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We are not here to upset the balance of the community, nor steal the thunder of those who came before and made names for themselves on their own. Many of us were already well known, though some not, and others still largely uninvolved in the community as a whole. There were already partnerships between some of our members, collaboration, and even some projects that were taken on as groups. We were brought together to create this team by GodlyPerfection. His vision for what could be accomplished should a team of skilled creators learn to work together consistently and leverage the team convinced us that it was worth the extra overhead to see how far we could take the system we’ve come to know and love. That said, the group works very democratically and answers to no one person, as we understand that it takes all of us to make it work. As we grow and mature as a team, we intend to branch off into other platforms, including creating content for other games, such as CS:GO and eventually working on entire experiences, with tools like the Unreal Engine. It transcends other in-game editors by allowing players of a massively popular game to really be tied into the process of the community designers. 343 Industries Massive gratitude for taking up the mantle of Halo and Forge. The amount of TLC that has come from 343i has really changed the direction of the Halo community and we would not exist without that. Tom French, Michael Byron, and the rest of the H5 Forge team The magic that has been created by this team for H5 has taken Forge to the next level. And the love keeps coming. The delayed release, constant updates, the community responses, etc. has really shown that Forge matters to 343i and we can't be thankful enough. The main players all having Twitters (like @pardontomfrench and @hamsnyams) and actually replying to them has made a HUGE difference in communication. @WARHOLIC and the Forgehub Staff The amount of work these guys have put in on a day to day basis has been tremendous. Huge thanks for taking care of the home of many forgers, including our team. They do so much for this community. The videos that FH puts out has shown major polish and are more than just accessible to newer forgers. The massive effort and coordination involved in the contests/events. The work put into the Map Database. And the moderation has really evolved from game to game. Forgehub is truly a space that truly helps evolve a powerful community of level/game designers. We fully appreciate all of the work you do, keep doing it. Spoiler: Developer Notes - Hive Charity High Charity, Your jewel of ascendancy- Your beacon of lies, loudly spoken- Now lies broken. As eternal as your power, Once gleaming towers Now drip thick with bile Thick, pungent, and vile Do not have pity For this fallen city. It is me And so you shall be. Hive Charity is a Grifball collaboration between @Rabid Hogs and our own @darkprince909, combining the Covnenant aesthetic of "High Charity" with a Flood aesthetic to leave players with a spooky, infected atmosphere. Grab the map, grab your hammer, and get going! Spoiler: Developer Notes - Furnace After @R3DSH1FT won 1st in the ForgeLabs/Creative Force blockout theming contest back in July with his map Bloodlust, we were confident that he had the ability to put out top notch aesthetics and we just had to work with him. When he became available to collaborate on a new project, he picked up a blockout from Blaze and quickly turned it into the map we know now as Furnace. Furnace is an asymmetrical 4v4-5v5 and FFA map set in a Victorian era mining town. The map consists of 3 somewhat secluded play-spaces connected mainly by long hall ways. The segmentation encourages players to linger at the choke points and assist when enemies make a push in team games and allows the lone wolves in FFA to finish a kill more easily before someone makes that sneaky steal from across map. Yeah! Nice to finally have this up there and get things rolling. Hope you guys find this index useful and easy on the eyes. Please let me know if there is anything you think could be improved and keep in mind that nothing is ever finalized, so we're ready to adapt as needed. Remember: We request that this not become a place for map feedback, rather that you use the Map postings hyperlinked to the images in the above postings.
Release Notes: September 2nd Hey folks - it's been a while, but we're in the process of (finally) updating this thread. Despite being incognito, we've actually been hard at work for the past couple of months... just haven't been posting about it. Right now, just the top post is ready, showing off a full release from Randy 355 and two Betas that were completed last sprint by a few of our Forge pairs. You can find these maps by adding the Creative F0rce gamertag or the Waypoint file browser. As my photoshop skills improve, we'll be updating the Release and Beta index, as well as linking in the appropriate WIP threads, map database posts, and download links when available. We expect to have the cobwebs dusted off by the end of the month. In the meantime, here's the tentative look-ahead for September. Next week: two releases from @darkprince909 - a Turf remake and the "Hive Charity" grifball court, as well as a sweet Victorian themed coforge for our beta. Later this month: The Breakout Initiative drops. Move fast, and stay low.
Release Notes: September 26th Collab week - Check the top post for descriptions and download links! This release, we're highlighting "Hive Charity", a grifball collab from back in March that hadn't made it to our release thread. @Rabid Hogs and @darkprince909 teamed up for this one. And for our other map this weak, @R3DSH1FT's gorgeous art with @Blaze's clever design came together to create Furnace, a Victorian era coal-mining town. The art is flat-out amazing, and I'm sad that I'll never be this good. Blaze also pre-fabbed a number of the pieces and they are on his file share if you'd like to use them in your own creations. GT: Whos Blaze Next Week: Keep an eye out for the Breakout Initiative. We've got 7 or 8 CF maps submitted to the Waypoint thread, and we're putting finishing touches and publishing work on them this weekend. We'll also try to highlight a few of the community maps we've seen through our testing lobby in August and on the file browser.
