I've been gradually building this map over the last few weeks, and I finally have it in a state that I'm willing to start showing it off, although it still needs a few aesthetic touches (the walls are bland and boring) and some health packs. Spawns and weapons have been placed, but are not finalized (probably need to reduce/adjust power weapons), and other gametypes have yet to be set up. Also totally taking suggestions for a map name, since I suck at those. The original inspiration for this map was, of course, a Forerunner research facility, repurposed by the UNSC (visually), as well as Lockout/Guardian with a little bit of The Pit thrown in for good measure (playstyle). I may still attempt to convey the aesthetic inspiration with some scenery pieces, but the layout and playability comes first. It's intended for fast-paced 1v1 to 3v3 (maybe 4v4) Slayer, Team Slayer, Headhunter, Doubles, etc. And now, pictures! (Click to Super-Size) Rockets spawn on the central platform, 1 extra clip, 60 second timer. Shotgun under Blue Room, 1 extra clip, 45 second timer. Other weapons in this screenshot: Plasma Repeater on elbow of ramp to blue room, DMR on walkway towards ramp and on Blue Room balcony, Magnum behind cover to left of Blue Room (possibly a health pack in this area soon as well), NR outside of Purple, Plasma Repeater and two stickies on top of purple. Needle Rifle halfway up tall ramp in left of picture. A Health Pack is probably going to go on this wall on the left. I'm at work, otherwise I'd add it right now. Sniper Rifle spawn. 1 extra clip, 45 second respawn timer. Lift under purple to lightly guarded hole, can drop down (intentional), lift on top of purple launches you to Sniper. Another view of Sniper spawn. Lift launches you into the room below Sniper. Another Magnum on the elbow of this elevated walkway. Window exposed to Blue/Purple walkway, sandbagged hole drops to Rockets. Into the rabbit hole! Plasma pistol and two stickies visible behind me. I would very much appreciate anyone's comments/suggestions/criticisms, as my primary concern is that this map plays well. First, thanks for the compliment. I used Juicy and Next Gen together to give it a bit more vibrance, it seemed to make the differently colored areas a little more easily recognizable, and makes it feel a little less busy with all the different forge pieces (started to hit object limits in some categories), without making it look like a cartoon. That left the center area a little too dark for my liking, though, so I hid a white light underneath the rockets, inside the little platform. [Wish I could remember who I saw using the Juicy+NextGen combo first, pretty sure it was someone on here when I was lurking. If someone knows, I will gladly edit the OP.]
Thanks for the reply, one more question, is your map located at the colliseum or ju just placed a few colliseum doors as the roof and floor?
It's inside the coliseum, but a large portion of that has been blocked off with coliseum walls. There is, however, a helipad outside of the coliseum door. It's just for atmosphere, though, a one-way shield door prevents access.
