UNSC 'Skybase' is one of my older maps where i focused more on air power than striaght up gun fights, just something a little diffrent. The map is set into 2 areas, each team having a built up base in each. Using the Hanger for the Elites and the Quarry for the Spartans. Its not been tested and i already know of 'some' tweeks that could be done, but heres for your viewing pleasure, ideas and comments as always welcome. Spartan base, Lots of buildings to hide, weapons to find, Falcons to fly Its set up for 8 v 8 so 2 per falcon is best, you get the best resaults from constant fire. And here is the Elite Counter, lol, (dont worry the defences in the Spartan base even it out alot!, 4 Miniguns in good defencive places, 2x Rockets so its not going to be a cluster fuk if the Falcons are knocked out) And heres the Covi Defence if the shes are wiped out, also the base is alot of conners so dont expect for falcons to spawn kill ether. also 2 power weapons to help out.) and thats the Blue Base right under the Red one, i know it looks like a tight fit but both the Falcons and the Banshees can get in or out at ether of the 3 'big' gaps in the walkway. First of all, having four falcons on the map is ridiculous. Also flow from the colliseum to the quarry and back will be poor at best. I would actually suggest turning this into a minigame where one team defends the colliseum from the other. That sort of thing just doesn't fit in a competitive map. I think this could become quite a fun minigame though.
Ive tried this before and it always ends up as a minigame like Psycoduck said, never works, sorry bro.
I'll agree with the above two posts to an extent. Although, saying that this idea couldn't work competitively is ridiculous. The idea CAN work, but not how you have it currently set up. This is the case for a few reasons: 1. Banshees beat Falcons 2. Having each team spawn in one specific area is going to promote spawn camping and thus, lead to poor, extremely un-fun gameplay. My suggestion would be to either increase the amount of playspace to allow for better spawning, OR, make this into an invasion style game which would help add to a theme.
