'Sup. Well, after updating the hell out of the Korolev, I decided to take on a few new projects. This is one of them, and the one I'm most proud of. Daedalus(front) Daedalus(back) I present: The UNSC Daedalus. A small hangarless destroyer-class ship, the Daedalus is a short range rapid attack/defense cruiser. Primarily tasked with orbital patrol, escort, and support, it has more than enough tools to get the job done. It has a dual MAC cannon(over/under type), many point-defense autocannons, and several archer missile pods. A dual tri-engine cluster setup makes the ship capable of sharp turns in high speed maneuvering, making it a quick and difficult target to follow in pitched battles. It is also capable of deploying ODSTs for groundside combat maneuvers. The tour: The bridge Armory/Drop pod bay: Drop Pods! Barracks: Engineering: Cargo Bay: Medbay: Meeting room: Captain's Quarters: Gunnery Deck: I was inspired by the Heart of Midlothian and Spirit of Fire when I built this, and I borrowed some conventions used in my previous maps. Overall, It's not perfect, but I like how it turned out. Later.
Isn't the ship over the water. So if you used the drop pods you will land ing the water and die. Other than that very nice creation.
@Flaming Cowboy I'm well aware. The overall look of the ship was inspired by both though. @Flameing Bannana The drop pods were actually a last-minute addition. I don't usually plan out my ship's layouts in advance, but instead let them grow in the process of creation. I wanted something back there, but not a hangar of any sort. @xXDEADB0LTXx No, I did not get the name from a song. I won't tell you what I got it from, but I will tell you that it's from the same place Korolev came from.
I remember the name Daedalus from some Greek Mythology stuff during my Senior Year of High School, though idk if that's what your map's name refers to...1 Haha, anyways, I'm definitely impressed with both the interior and exterior of the ship I especially like that it's a ship of your own design rather than one of the UNSC ships we see in the games. I love the inclusion of drop pods but it's always nice if they land on the ground xD No biggie though. Great Job!
@Intrepid Artifex: You're pretty close. The name is a reference to a ship that is named after the character you speak of. Also, thanks. I found the amount of frigates here a little annoying(there's at least 10 unique ones, not counting permutations) and I wanted to do something different. @a cat: A good suggestion, but there's no budget left. Weapons could be deleted, but I'm currently using this as a machinima set that requires their presence.
