I have been thinking about this since I have got a account on this website and that is why is everyone care so much about what others do on here. Now here me out what I'm talking about are the unofficial rules . It's almost like in less you have been on here for a long time your going to get in trouble by the admins because of un written rules. I honestly don't understand I see all these people that have all the senior members and all the people who have been here for a long time commenting on there maps saying nice map or it looks really cool...... what do I get oh ah your updates are to short but that guy with 3 thousand views just posted a update saying he updated his forge hub link that's it no one is gonna say anything to him though. I just don't get it. I have not been here long but so far every time anyone has ever messaged me directly it's always telling me I did something wrong. When ever I used to get a notification I would get really excited I would be like oh maybe some one left a review or maybe some one liked my map but as I have been here longer I have learned no it's just someone telling me I didn't do it like everyone else did. I just really wish things would not be so negative and that there were written rules instead of unofficial rules

I'm sure it's nothing against you personally. It's human nature that you're going to be more friendly to people you know than you are to people you don't know.

Be patient. Interact on the site frequently (posting in some of the more informal threads like 'What Are You Working On?' can help because it let's people get to know your personality better and helps you get to know them better). Joining in testing lobbies, or just joining in a party with other people from the site, would be a good idea too.

No mod or admin is going to scold you for not following 'unwritten rules', because they're not against the rules, lol. There may be people that don't like it when you do those things, and sometimes they may have good reason for not liking it. Consider why people may not be happy about them. Think about the impact they may have on other members of the site. Also, perhaps people are actually trying to be helpful when they message you (maybe not, since I haven't seen the messages)? I've often seen comments directed at newer members imploring them to post more pictures, post a description, etc. I don't think these should be interpreted as accusatory comments. It's just a fact that most people are not going to pay attention to content from someone that doesn't put much effort into their map posts. It's only natural to assume that they may have put the same amount of effort into their map.

Finally, don't take anything too seriously. This is an internet forum. 99% of the time when people give other people a hard time, it's because they're in a bad mood or just have pent up anger and they're looking for ANYONE to take it out on. Would it be better if everyone was as kind and gentle as the great Bob Ross all the time? Maybe...maybe not. One things for sure though...there's only one Bob Ross.
