well, I recently had to start over my Turf remake because I started it in the Skybox (stupid me) so of course I was running out of objects, so I will post a few pics I had of it before I deleted it and strted over in the crypt. LOL, why'd you start in the skybox. When you remake it I hope it is as good as it is looking right now. Interlocked and all. Two quick questions. Can you get on top of those ledges by the arch entry way? I think you could in the original. It added for some really awesome firefights and added elevation to the map. I wouldn't be to happy if you can't get up there. How are you going to make the swinging door. If you are planning on making it stationary remember to leave more than enough room for warthogs but not to cut it to close because the floors would be littered with dead bodies from splatters. It will be interesting to see how you pull off the crashed scarab site as well as the medical tent area. From what I've seen so far you have a rather impressive remake in the works. Also, how do you plan on blocking off the top of the map? That could prove quite challenging. Oh, and I hope you have the super jump. you better give us our super jump
Lol, Im co-forging this (not really he's mainly just helping with contemplation), and the reason we started in the skybox was size constraints, I didn't want to get screwed over width wise. but then I realized being slightly off wouldn't be as bad as missing half the map, lol. As for the super jump, I can't mod =( sorry. Also where the arches are you couldn't get on there, unless you were glitching out of the map, you could barely get on the edge but I never really saw it used in mtachmaking. And so far I haven't got very far on the "restart" so, not much to report at this point, sorry.
look at the other turf remake for the medi tent, though it was too wide and long the medi tent needs to be just well the same size as before lol, the scarab will be easy one large block and use 4 of the pillars or something for the legs that poke out.
You could get on that arch area (and the other one too) if you grenade jump, however, if someone sees you, you're screwed. You have no cover, and you are most likely one-shot. This looks promising from what I can see. I wasn't much of a Halo 2 player, but I know Turf. I hope to see the final version when it's done.
This looks really good so far. I agree with what ForgeGod 117 said on the first post about the arch and getting up higher. Also, I think if you have not already made your plans in the Scetch-Up program it would help you with the planning of your map tremendously. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see the finshed map!
Yes but sketch-up is wierd and not accurate I usually forge as I go, when I set out a plan I dissapoint myself... lol
im glad your doing it in the crypt doing in in skybox would probably push the money limit. and you have a floor so you don't have to make one.
This looks great! Turf is the one H2 map I wanted most because I just love urban maps on any game so much. Nice job!
OKAY! well, I'm a lazy forger so naturally im not that far yet in the remake of the remake (lol) but somebody said they wanted to check out my bunker so I'll post a few pics of what I've done so far... This will probably be the last time I post update pics for this thread so savour the flavor, yo!
ci senior, believe it or not, that is the main feature i wanted to make 1000% accurate... (i meant to say 1000 by the way...) It took me and Crimson (co-forger... kinda) a long time to decide how to do teh medic tent
