Troubleshooting Shields

    Hi friends. Just a quick troubleshooting post that I'm looking for some help with.
    I've placed some gameplay shields on my map and the majority of them work as they should... you can break the barrier and then they respawn as they should.

    However, one of them doesn't respawn unless I drive an object that's close to it away. The object (a tank) doesn't contact the barrier and there is quite a bit of space for a spartan to pass between the tank and the shield. If I drive the tank out of the building it's in then the shield respawns.

    The other shield issue Im having is much newer. I just built two pillboxes to update the ones I already had and am using colourable shields. When I was first making the pillbox the shield could get popped and then would respawn. I've finished my design and placed it in map, however now it seems that once you destroy the shield that they won't respawn.

    Does anyone have some theories or know why the shields won't respawn. Thank you.

    So I seem to have solved my problem for the most part thanks to Halowaypoints b0b is here.
    He posted this as a solution to my problem.

    "Alright, so it looks like all you need to do is unweld both red and blue pillbox structures in the map in forge. Next grab one of the shields and go to its options and select 'select all'. while holding all of the object types scroll down further in the same menu and turn on respawn to 1 second (you had it turned off). Do the grab and select all for the other type of shield as well, since I notice two shield sizes. It won't always respawn in 1 second, but it will try and most likely succeed if too many objects/players aren't colliding with it."


    I went into forge selected the structure and then unwelded the group. Changed the parent object to one of the shields then deselected the group then reselected the group. Went to the object settings, activated the respawn and presto. It worked. The blue pillbox went smooth, but still having some issues with the red one. I had to remove the 3 shield pieces from the group and had to make the changes that way.

    I'm going to go back into the prefab and make the changes there in a little bit for future use.

    As for the front door shield on my tank garage, it seems as if the proximity of the tank inside the structure is why the shield won't respawn. Once you drive the tank out of the garage and away from the door it respawns just fine. No big deal.

    Setting it to 2 seconds sometimes works better.

    Also set a script on the shields. On Destroyed/Despawned - Spawn, Force = On.

    ^ This, I rarely use the game's built-in respawns, as they are less reliable and can't be "forced" like scripted respawns.

    On some items, it may still be a good failsafe to use both.

    Thanks, I still get really lost in the scripting menus. But I'll keep this in mind for future use as I really enjoy using shields lately.
