-Transit- Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details In this massive, ancient structure travel is swift. Consisting of two connected bases, the enemy is just a ride away. http:// Transit is an ancient ruin that is home to a long, two floor tunnel that spans the entire map from base to base. Powered by man cannons, the ride is taken by mongoose and is a one way trip to the enemy base. One base travels through the lower tunnel while the other goes above. Outside of the bases and tunnels lay 3 hallways that have 3 power weapons in the middle. One has rockets, one has sniper, and the other shotgun. The hallways contain scattered cover making the trip to each weapon a shoot out of sorts. Due to budget constraints, the map couldn't hold as many weapons or items as I wanted. It also has caused the map to be easily escapable in certain parts, but I had no choice. Anyways, the weapons and items are as follows: Battle Riflex4 Rocket Launcherx1 Sniper Riflex1 Shotgunx1 Assault Riflex2 Regeneratorx1 Power Drainx1 Mongoosex2 Pictures: Here we see one of the two bases. It contains two battle rifles and at the bottom you can see the mongoose and tunnel. Riding through the lower tunnel at high speed. Here we see the other base. On the top is the upper tunnel. Much more simple and flat than the other base, but more easy to maneuver around. Exit of the base and the Shotgun hall. At the time of making the map I actually did not know how to merge, interlock, etc. As a result, it has some rough parts, but overall it is not game breaking. As stated earlier, it can be escaped but don't escape and we won't have this problem. ;-) When I get the chance, I will hopefully smooth out the edges, fix some other problems, and release another version now that my forge skills have improved. For now though, I hope you enjoy Transit despite its shortcomings and I promise future maps will utilize more forge tricks. Have fun!
It does look a little rough, and most of what i see can be fixed without merging or interlocking. but i get the idea and give it 3.9/5 based on look and design. On your future posts, try playing a game of slayer and taking your screen shots with the free camera so you don't see all the spawn points, just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the advice Captain, will do. The tube pieces are indeed a little jagged but while riding on the mongoose through it, it actually stays very stable. Still, I do plan on fixing that first thing, though. Probably should have fixed it even before posting the map but I was just too eager to finish.
its a very good idea but it can be improved upon some of your walls are pretty sloppy, but thats an easy fix the tunnel in the middle is also a little uneven, but again an easy fix also, try not to take your pictures while in forge, some people don't like that try to have a few action shots too, a lot of people like those
Much of the obvious problems can be solved with interlocking. I personally would suggest removing the visual filter. Map looks a little sloppy, too. I'd also say... too many power weapons. Only 9 weapons, and 1/3 are power weapons. Remove at least one of them. Replace with a Battle Rifle, and the ARs should be replaced as well.
