I was on the "Top Ten" thread and I remembered about a game called "Toy Commander" which was for the Sega Dreamcast. Toy Commander, as it implies, is a game in which you command your toys. Why is this awesome? When you were a kid, did you have toy army men (Not G.I. Joe's, but multiple plastic guys and mini tanks? If so, keep reading, if not, you might not like this game. If you did, obviously you'd have pretend battles with 'em right? Well this game takes those imaginations and brings them to life. You play as different army themed vehicles (the size that can fit in your palm) and go on different missions. Occaisionally you will play as a cargo truck that can pick up allied plastic men and move them to strategic positions. You play against other army themed toys and red plastic army men. The boss battles are souped up normal toys, the main boss being a teddy bear with insane weaponry. When you defeat a boss, it joins your side for the final battle in which you play as the minor bosses. Otherwise they fight against you in said battle. For example, if you beat the first room (one boss per room, you unlock the boss battle by completing missions in that room, not open world style though, specific setups for each mission) you unlock the boss battle, and you play as that one boss against every other boss and the main boss combined (very tough lol). Each time you defeat a boss, you also unlock the next room (Start out in the Kitchen). Enough summary, now to the point of the thread. Anybody here agree with me in thinking this would make a GREAT game, probably only Arcade worthy, if remade with better graphics and such? Honestly, think about it, what other game was based off of your old imaginations, and was made well?
I actually remember playing this. I had a **** load of fun. Xbox should def bring it back as at least an arcade game.
I ****IN LOVED THAT GAME! Did anyone else unlock the secret snail race level? I did. That was fun. I currently have 2 dreamcasts. I think Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder should be brought back before this game though. When my friends come over we always play them. I remember the dump truck level scared the **** out of me as a little kid. My heart would race so fast when that big ass truck would come out and try to eat me. YouTube - Toy Commander Dreamcast
Snail race level was the reward for kicking huggy bear's ass. The truck was a ***** to beat tho... but he kicked ass in the final level. I got to being able to beat teh bear without dying if I used the robot, the truck, or the racecar
