I searched, and it seems this switch hasnt been noted here on forgehub - atleast not easily accesible in Forge 101, which I believe it should be. What I'll explain is a type of switch triggered by touching an object. The basics is that you first must have a movable object (dumpster, pallet, or similar) and place it somewhere where it will stay perfectly still. Next, add something that will move this object, such as a grav lift or a man cannon, next to the movable object so that it is affected by the grav lift or man cannon. Next, change the grav lift/man cannons "place at start" to "no" and "respawn time" to "10", and start a new round. The effects, if done correctly, will be that the object wont fly away unless you forces it to move by walking into it or shooting it, or throwing grenades at it. I hope I explained this with good enough english. I tried searching for this, but couldnt come up with anything. This looks much nicer than using a powerup to block the item. Only concern might be that during the first ten seconds of the round, the grav lift/man cannon wont have spawned. cheers, Rolfero. I wuv you guise, bye :*
The technique is called wire switch. I think there is a guide up somewhere but it didn't get stickied, that or it was only part of a big switch guide. Your guide needs to be more spaced out to explain to people. This type of switch needs a picture tutorial or even a video. Ohh, here is a video (Yes that is me in the video ) YouTube - Halo 3 Forge |: Wire Technology :|‎
well someone should make a good tutorial explaining it and stuffs, thats the point of this topic. oh and lol I never thought about wiring stuffs, forcing vibrations that way. I only thought about the player directly touching/shooting the object it affects... Freaking awesome. thanks, wuv you,
It was part of one big switch guide I made: HERE IS LINK And yeah this is called Wire Tech. Man it makes me sad so few people know very much about switches.
