Who are your top 5 guitarists of all time?
    Mine are -

    1. Dimebag Darrel Abot - Pantera (R.I.P.)
    2. Michael Angelo Batio
    3. Chris Broderick - Megadeth
    4. Zakk Wylde - Black Label Society
    5. Alex Laiho - Children of Bodom

This is just my opinion, not a definitive list. What's yours?

Also anyone who includes Herman Li, will be laughed at.

Joe Satriani - the guy who taught EVERYONE. I saw him live, and I think that he is probably the best guitarist to ever have lived.
Steve Vai - known as a solo artist and for playing the "impossible guitar parts" for Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.
John Petrucci - solo artist and guitarist for Dream Theatre and Liquid Tension Experiment.
Robert Fripp - multitalented man of insanity and founder of King Crimson.
Yngwie J. Malmsteen - just look him up, seriously.

    tough call

before i post, i would say that your
"i see there arent many hardcore metal fans on this site"
comment.. is kind of stupid to say.

i listen to a lot of metal, and although a great majority of metal guitarists are extrememly skilled at playing the guitar, i dont think that many of them have standout qualities that make them anywhere near the level of the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, etc...

I cant even make a list, my mind started breaking when i tried to think.
    Yes, that happens a lot.

    I are dumb.

Stevie Ray Vaughn though... u guys forgot him
umm... yea.. i agree with a few others that were mentioned

herman li is a very fast guitar player but that doesnt make him "the best" so i agree with that part too.

hmm... i hate talking about music on this forum.

    I don't think so

I don't understand why John Lennon is in your list. He is a god. No argument. But he didn't even play lead guitar in the band. Name a song where you're thinking: Wow, Lennon is really wailing on that guitar! The same could be said for Johnny Cash.
