Hey everyone, this was my first Halo Reach forge creation and I decided to move it to Mini-games because it probably fits here better. The idea of To The Top is to act as sort of a challenge/race map in which you must go through three stages of obstacles to get to the top and claim the oddball first. You are immediately forced from your spawn with a soft-kill zone and into the vertical hell that is "To The Top". Through the first two stages, there are kill balls slowly spawning upwards in a means to weed out the weak. The stages go from: 1) Rock Climbing - You must use sprint and know how to crouch jump to prevent falling to your demise (probably the most challenging of the three). 2) Jet-packing - You must maneuver through a sequence of one-way shield doors before the kill balls catch up. 3) Grav-lifts - You must use them to your advantage to make it through the last stretch. Helpful Hint: don't forget about your jetpack! I would definitely consider this a more challenging map due to the rock climb, but I tried to compensate with somewhat generous timers on the kill balls. This map supports the gametype "Go" and can be used for 1-16 players, though it's recommended you play with 2-16 players because the game does not end after you have run out of lives (everyone starts out with one life for 3 rounds of 5 minutes each) in single player. You are impervious to damage beyond the kill balls, so focus on your own life rather than your party's. The main thing I'm worried about is the difficulty making it impossible for anyone to ever actually reach the top, but the difficulty is sort of what makes it for me. I'll include some pics so you can get a rough idea of what it looks like, I hope you enjoy it and remember to comment! The lobby where you spawn. The rock climb. The Jet-pack maneuvering. The Grav-lift challenge. The tower itself.
This looks pretty interesting. Obstacle courses were always something I enjoyed in halo 3, I haven't played any in Reach yet. definitely giving this a download so see how it turns out. Difficulty is always soomething you want in these types of games, but too much will kill the idea.
