Eh? You think basic movement should require more of a player's attention, Multi? I can see the appeal in something like Mirror's Edge, where it's the point of the game. Titanfall's parkour system is definitely core gameplay, but I see it more of a secondary system, with the gunplay and titans being the primary ones. You see it differently?
Any game should strive for the highest skill gap it can achieve. Especially in a game like Titanfall which is so mobility focused, the more depth there is to the movement the better. It's only going to separate the better players even further so, why dumb that down? "Basic movement"as you put it, is as simple as running and jumping. Anyone can do that (not so much in an ADS oriented game but that's a different topic), honestly even with all the improvements the movement is still too easy considering half the mobility actions require you to either put your gun down or disable ADS. What good is being able to do awesome spider man grappling **** when you can't even shoot someone until you stop, it pays off just to sit on the ground and shoot at people as they swing around. I think Titanfall is a very confused game. The movement in context of the grappling hook is awesome, but it's an optional ability next to the ****ing sonar knife instead of being given to everyone. The weapon sandbox became completely redundant this time around, ADS is the polar opposite of what this game needs, and the titan combat ****ing blows in this tf2 demo. Not to mention the level design is on a whole different level of complete ****, especially compared to the first. Tldr; movement needs to be even faster and more skill based, grappling hook should be forced on everyone, get rid of ADS, titans need shields/rodeo again, hire new level designers.
Titanfall 2 is worse than Titanfall 1. My biggest fear is that Respawn will make a few small improvements and the community will just accept its mediocrity.
I’ve already been told multiple times that I “don’t get it” so my opinion isn’t valid. It’s not like I played the original enough to get Gen10Level50 or anything like that.
Disclaimer: I did not use a titan during my play. But will say it did not look like the original style of titan gameplay. Otherwise I really enjoyed the pilot play.
It feels like they could have balanced them out, then decided “Nah, let’s make 'em last a freaking hour and have a radius of 10 miles”
Oh, I never used them. It's always grappling hook or the stim. But when you play teams of 8 in pilot Hunter where every single one them uses the ****ing sonar, you can't walk anywhere without being pinged.
it seems like the two dont compare and shouldnt be in the same category. It should be a movement based perk. Grappling/Jump Kit/Stim etc. Like I said, i enjoyed what I tried out, but that was limited
Loved the tutorial from an art standpoint. The combat seems like it should be super interesting but it's clunky. i'd say it's probably clunkier than Blops 3 was, but at least you can shoot while doing all the crazy **** in this game. The levels in the game aren't interesting and the combat itself is even less so. Super boring. Will probably pick it up for the campaign.
Honestly not really, bo3 has less movement penalties than pretty much every console game right now honestly. Except Doom, but even Doom has a clamber mechanic, at least in BO you can clamber in any direction and shoot while doing it
