Just to prove that grifball is not the only good assault-ball-on-foundry gametype, here is my game Thunderball. I created it back in late november/ early december, very soon after I started messing around with forge and experienced grifball. You will have to download the "Thunderball" game variant and the official map named "Thunderball", to play. I created playable versions on Last resort and Snowbound, which are available in my fileshare as well, neither offer the same experience as the one on foundry, but I felt that I should make them in order to allow ppl who don't have the HMP to see what thunderball is all about. It is pretty straight forward, get the ball in the goal, keep your teamates safe. Stop the other team from scoring. Games go to 10 points, unless you play the tournament variant which is also available in my fileshare. Leme know what you think! and Enjoy! {Best Played with 6-16 players and even teams} Links: http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=17067187 http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15869788 Some Pics:
Good map, looks great by the screenies. But how do you get to the top platform, do you just spawn there? And some people aren't crazy about shield doors. Good job anyway. Adios.
Well the top platform used to be a respawning area, but in the latest versions you get there by use of 4 corner man-cannons (somtimes its harder than others because of the crane and invisible ceiling, but believe me it is possible to do it from each) to prevent overcamping up there. And yes I myself am not even fond of shield doors, but.... the shield doors are a important part of the way the game is played and create alot of the strategy of running the ball to the goal. and thanks I hope you enjoy it. =)
hammers are an interesting idea, but I would only use them if there was some way to make everyone immune to a weapon type in a game variant. Boy that would be cool wouldnt it? I just think it would change the gameply too much if people started just wailing on eachother with hammers instead of rockets... that would make it Grif-thunderball... =/
