well to sufficiently discuss the game, finishing the campaign would be necessary, so i dont feel the need to put spoilers. besides i didnt say anything thta would have spoiled the game for anyone who didnt finish it yet. and i know and i dont care that it is a trilogy, i prefer to believe that there will be more. besides you never know, everything is about money, contrary to what many people want to believe. if it makes them enough money, they will make more games, even if it is not titled "gears 4".
What I dont get is this. according to Gears of War 1. Adam fenix, the voice we heard in the end, is dead. He was killed by RAAM. Marcus left his post to try to save his dad, but he was too late, The CoG found him a traitor for leaving his troops so they put him in jail for like 14 years or something. That is why Marcus is in Jail in the beggining. Maybe the voice is just a recording?
im gonna have to say he didnt die, and he's out there somewhere, watching. and did it seem to anyone else that everyone pretty much forgot about CoD 5 in the midst of gears? at least for me, everyone was like "oh cod came out today? i completely forget, i might go pick it up this weekend..."
Ya ik what you mean... no ****ing beserkers in the whole game??? tsk tsk.... they could have had one at certain points. Like near the end in Jacinto, have us go through the place and confront one at some point idk... or have one in the hospital in the beginning. Id like to know where the beserkers went...
To be fair the berserkers weren't really that fun to kill, they just made you poop your pants. Besides we got a new range of characters to fight plus the fact that your underground almost the entire time. Also, you killed a giant fricken worm, how much more awesome does it get? Overall, I enjoyed GoW2's campaign, but the ending was way too rushed. Also, I wanted more parts where you relied on your buddy more often like with the spotlight in gears. I think GoW1 was much scarier and intense whereas GoW2 was bigger and better. This time I'm glad I didn't have to mess myself everytime I played in the dark.
So yeah, the campaign was great until the ending. That has to be one of the stupidest endings ever. Spoiler It almost seemed as if they were like "Hmm...we can make random **** make sense, lets make them lose the Lightmass Bomb and then have the Brumak explodable." Fricken..dumb. It would have been much better had they just used the lightmass bomb instead of making a giant exploding Godzilla. [/rant] But other than that, I enjoyed the Campaign a lot. I never played the first Gears of War so I can't compare but I found the variety in enemies very nice. That, along with other parts where I didn't know which weapons I should pick up or keep made the thrill of the game all the better; there are litterally half a dozen weapons I love using versus the 3-ish I like in Halo 3. Horde is insane. Me, Soggydoghnut and his friends played level 1-20 on Hardcore on Security. The next night we played 20-43 on Casual on The River. Tonight I managed to do 43-46 on Casual on The River by myself which I was pretty proud of.
I actually liked the giant, explosive Brumak. In the first game, imulsion infected or "lambent" locusts would explode if you killed them, so the lambent Brumak was a good idea. Sadly, it was way to easy, should have had some challenge =/
yarly... I hated that ****ing battle. Like, they hyped it up and **** and made it look sick with the lightmass bomb going down, and the huge mutation, and then all it was is a few hammer of dawn shots or whatever and he is done. Like really? REALLY??? It could have been more epic. Like, a giant beserker battle. Make the Brumak act like a beserker, and have to lead it into an area with aligned satellite connectionso that only THEN you can use the HoD.... idk ANYTHING that wasnt as easy as that...
yes i do agree, the final boss battle wasnt really a battle at all. but i dont think it really made the campaign any less EPIC, i still loved it. and i think that Horde pretty much makes gears 2.
Well according to some of the hidden stuff you find, the Lightmass Bomb from the first game did wipe out the Kryle breeding grounds, perhaps it did something similar with the beserkers.
well berserkers are the female locust so i dont see how they could be wiped out. I doubt they could have done much more with berserkers, because let's face it, they are extremely easy to beat once you get it down. I will admit that my first berserker battle, made me **** myself. I would have liked to at least see them in some cinematics or something...
It is possible that the lightmass bomb could have destroyed a portion of the locust but created a portion of lambent. This is possible because the wretches who were exposed to imulsion. So maybe the lightmass bomb made the lambent locust.Who probably have the same plans to reach the surface.
I had a theory has to why the berserkers didn't show up, but now I forget it lol. Really there wasn't my HoD fighting either, I think they really wanted to move away from that. Berserkers don't fit into the grand battle scale, as the first game said, you can't kill em with regular weapons. Though I agree, they could have had them in some cinematics.
i have to say, while gears 2 is superior in every way to me, i will never forget the boomer/gas station sequence on gears 1. so ****ing awesome.
