Map Title: The Kingdom Map Description (As seen in map browser): Two symmetrical fortresses lay side by side, only one can remain. Designed by Blackprinze. 6-12 players. Screenshot(s): About Your Map 1. Write a brief, one paragraph "elevator pitch" for the map. Include primary features of the map, weapon load-out, whatever you think will "sell" the map. The original purpose of this map was to have two large symmetrical bases that could easily be defended from a frontal attack, and to balance that out the Sky-Bubble was involved. Behind each base was a tele-porter that would send you to a mini base with Aircraft in the Sky-Bubble, where teams would battle it out to get behind the other teams base. Testing proved it is capable but the map plays better without it. There are two Fortresses that have a similar effect as Standoff. And one thing I love about The Kingdom is that it can be played in nearly every MM Playlist available: Squad Battle, Team Slayer, Team Objective, Social Slayer, Social Skirmish, and Team DLC. Weapon Layout & Spawn Timer BR-12x (8x 30 second Spawn) (4x 10 second Spawn) Carbine-4x (30 second Spawn) Rocket Launcher-2x (180 second Spawn) Needler-2x (90 second Spawn) Brute Shot-2x (90 second Spawn) Shotgun-2x (150 second Spawn) Human Turret-4x (150 second Spawn) Sniper Rifle-2x (60 second Spawn, 4 bullets each) Plasma Pistol-2x (30 second Spawn) Smg-4x (30 second spawn) Spiker-4x (30 second spawn) Equipment Gravity Lift-2x (90 second Spawn) Regenerator-2x (120 Second Spawn) Bubble Shield-2x (90 second Spawn) Plasma Grenade-12x (8x with 60 second Spawn, 4x with 30 second Spawn) Frag Grenade-4x (10 second Spawn) Trip Mine-2x (120 Second Spawn) 2. Is your map symmetrical or asymmetrical? Symmetrical 3. How many players best suit your map? Can it support players below or above your ideal player count? 6-12 Players. 12 here is the perfect number, more than twelve would be pushing it, lets just say it would be crazy with 16. 4. Does your map have vehicles? What purpose do the vehicles serve? Can it sustain vehicles? Yes, Two Warthogs and **Four Mongooses. The Vehicles add depth to the map and help achieve a common goal in whatever your objective is. It sustains vehicles very well. ]Mongoose-4x (90 second Spawn) Warthog-2x (150 second Spawn) 5. Does your map have teleporters? What purpose do the teleporters serve? No. 6. What standard gametypes (Slayer, CTF, Oddball, King, Assault, VIP, Juggernaut, Territories, Infection) are supported by your map? Which work best? Which gametypes are not supported, or do not work best? Supported: Slayer CTF King Assault Territories Oddball Not supported: VIP Juggernaut Infection The Map was originally designed with CTF in mind and caters to CTF game-types very well. Slayer plays as smooth and natural as any Slayer game-type should. Assault game-types are top notch, and Territories is brilliantly fun. Playtest Multi-Flag 5v5 Other Notes If you are willing to Test this map I'd love to see the video so I can see ways on improving the map, thanks. **Latest Version of "The Kingdom" Map: The Kingdom
Looks pretty good, I agree with this being good for assault and territories. I'm thinking the back corners are just a touch too open, but we shall see how that plays out. Overall solid map 4/5
This is more or less for vehicular combat, and opposing teams having a few more options on how to attack a base. The last thing I want to do is clutter.
This map has great gameplay. I especially like the big, open bases with lots of cover provided by the columns. It was a really good decision to move the bomb and flag points to the top of the bases instead of leaving them at the bottom. You would just get fragged if you tried to disarm the bomb.
Yes, that was the first 5v5 play-test on the map and it proved to be really good. I got a lot of great info on how to make the map better, thanks for the Feedback.
Black Prinze's maps are a lot of fun to play. They are balanced and they are very competitive. I played The Kingdom on MultiFlag with 5v5 and it was epic. I highly recommend this map, and if you haven't had the priviledge yet, look up his map Hesitation. That is one of my favorite Atlas submissions right now. Good luck to you sir.
Hey Black Prinze, this is ILLAZILLA 918. This was one of the stand out maps that we played in both sessions. I like the height of the bases. That middle gets a lot of action, walk out in the middle hump and get some meat grinder action! A great map indeed! One thing is that I didn't notice a lot of traffic in the stand alone ramp structures that stand behind each base. If I'm right that these don't get that much traffic I would try a slight redesign to tie a bridge from them to the main base to see if that helps.
