I was 7 or 8 when Halo CE (Halo 1) first came out. I played it at my mom's friend's house with her older sons and didn't get to the flood level. We then bought it for my dad for father's day, because then he like to play FPSs... I played and when I got the the flood I wasn't really scared of them but terrified of how they were everywhere and just wouldn't die.
Everyone who has Halo 3 should have the other 2. I mean, that's like watching Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi, without watching IV or V! Yeah, I remember the Flood, scared the crap out of me. God I hated Keyes. The level, I mean.
AGGGGGGGGGGG! When I first played against the flood I went berserk on the massive swarm of them, the movie and atmosphere freaked me out even tough I had already read the book, that was 2 years ago and I know know why my friend started killing me and wouldn't let me play that level after we'd pwnd our way through it when it first came out.
My first play though the flood creaped me out a bit because of their noises but played through like I normally did. The many times after that, they creaped me out so much i couldn't play any level were all you fought, in single battles, was flood. Flood/Covenant battles weren't so bad but flood by themselves sucked. I've gotten over it for the most part now. I still can't really play the very first encounter with the flood in Halo 1, The Oracle in Halo 2 and Floodgate in Halo 3.
for me, i just cant stand the library on halo:CE. the oracle was a close second, and i kinda liked all the halo 3 missions with the flood. thank god there was none in ODST tho, that woulda sucked so much ass.
I remember that moment in Halo CE. I was freaking out when the dead marine falls in your arms when you open the door. I was in 3rd grade and playing in the dark. The music didnt help either because it was quiet and the second that you see the marine falling you hear the screeching part of the music. The insane marine that shoots at you also scared me.
The first time I was scared of the flood was that time, and the last time was when I walked around a corner and got bitchslapped on Legendary by a Tank at around... midnight.
I did it on Pc. I don't think the game was turned back on for 3 months. I was five and it was dark and it happened to on Halloween
I was scared of the flood in the first halo and the second because there was quite a big build up to them but in halo 3 it wasnt really a build up at all.
i wasnt scared at all. like, idk what it is about the flood. i played beat halo one in... i think 2nd grade. and they didnt scare me. back then in halo one with the graphics and such they didnt look scary. by the time halo 2 and 3 were out i had seen much scarier things. and as for the noises, i listen to death metal music so i hear far scarier everytime i turn on my ipod.
The music was really creepy in an awesome way. Personally, I didn't get scared but I remember thinking "what are these things?" right after watching the clip.
Virtual characters don't really scare me. I don't remember what I thought when I first saw the flood, but I know I wasn't scared
when i played halo CE i found that the little flood was ok to deal with but when the human flood cam e i fell back in my chair throwing my controller up shouting "what the **** was that" i was in a dark room with surround sound
the only video game ive ever been freaked out by so far is Silent Hill Homecoming. I think my xbox was scared too. the second time i played it my xbox fried... but yeah flood not so scary lol.
Scared the **** out of me, going through dark corridors, while being charged by mutant zombies. That's how I came up with my popular and scary map The Flood. : )
oh man i remember mine.. played through the game and The Library sticks out the most for me.. it was an amazing level - so open but there were so many flood that it was like.. well.. a flood of them coming at you! i loved it and would scream whenever they would start jumping at me oh, post 1500
I still remember Quarantine Zone and that freaked me out more than 343 Guilty Spark because you have TWO enemies and that makes even more suspense.
I'm the kind of guy that doesn't get scared from video games. The first halo game I played was Halo 3, and Floodgate made me go 'ok, wtf are these things?'. One of my friends actually vomited while playing Cortana.
Nothing I've ever watched, read or played has triggered any form of emotional response from me. Yes, that includes MW2's airport mission and levels from all Halo games.
