Even though I only have a steady start on the map, I will post my preview now. Because even if I did have a larger portion of it complete, I could not get any screenshots of it because I do not have a capture card or camera. This map will be a one-vs-many minigame map. It will use the Haloball game type. It is one-vs-many because one person on one team will have to fend off everyone else in the game. I have a steady start for it but it still needs a lot more work, but by the general idea I have for it, I suggest that the game will play better with more people. So I recommend it for 7-16 players. The map appears that it would have very bland gameplay, given that it starts out as nothing but a grid of squares and criss-crossing hallways. But this map is named "The Elusive Rat" for a few reasons. Firstly the "rat" uses evade to get around the map and is also given a custom powerup that allows him to move faster at the start. And the last and most important reason, is that when the "rat" passes through certain hallways, a wall will spawn behind him, which both confuses any current pursuers and makes them have to change route to get to him, and also allows him to start forming his own unique maze during the run-time of the game. Some of you might look at the idea and say it doesn't sound like much, but I just want to point out that because of such an ability is very "animated" and allows the gameplay to form and change during the course of the match. And because of the fact that the maze is formed by a player, the map can have a very unique style of gameplay where the players control the gameplay and how things turn out depends on the path the player chooses. I have the map quite a bit more complete than it was before, like... the long hall like structure is complete, but the maze like structure using mechanics is only just beginning. After a little bit more work on it, I can probably start adding weapons and such. The only issue I have. Is that I could choose to make the walls that spawn actually never despawn, creating a permanently unchangeable path. However I am worried that if I do that, the "rat" can box himself him, making it difficult for the other players to "catch" him.
This sounds like an amazing Idea cody, but you are probably right that making static walls will do massive damage to the gameplay. Sounds fun though if you have/ started the map send me an invite when I am online.
