I was playing Infection with my friends earlier, and I was bored so I went back into Theater mode and replayed the match, and saw something like this. Then, I was inspired, so I went into Forge and edited the map. Then, after rigging the Phantom with Plasma Batteries and Fusion Coils, I went into Custom Games. Then, I got a Mongoose, got into position, grabbed a Sniper Rifle, zoomed in, then Shot, quickly changed weapons, got into the Mongoose, and then got the Screenshot (after a few attempts). The Crash.
I like the idea, but you really can still tell it's just coils on top of the phantom. It doesn't look like it's breaking apart, it looks like it already did and now some random object exploded. It's decent though.
I like the idea, but as Kronos said it's not that convincing, try putting the coils deeper into the phantom. I might try this later if I find the will. 8/10
I know it's not very convincing. You can only put 8 Plasma Batteries on the map. Not nearly enough to create a full explosion. With only 8 Batteries and 16 Fusion Coils, I'd say it was as good as it can get, considering most of the explosion is in the front, where the Phantom crashed, and the back only burned by the explosion. There were also some places Fusion Coils would roll off and Plasma batteries would topple over. I did the best possible.
You know you can delete items on the map, right? The picture isnt that bad, ive seen it before though..
Yes, I do know you can delete Items on the map, but there were only 8 Plasma Batteries and 16 Fusion Coils nonetheless.
Huh, I never thought of how or when it crashed. 2 Thumbs up for originality from me. The mongoose was a nice touch also. You would of thought the person driving would of been goin crazy though
great originality, but i can see the obvious pile of fusion coils, and the minor detail that the explosion of a dying phantom is blue not orange. I also see the mg turret on the cargo containers (I never knew the covanant used mg turrets!!!), and the back of the phantom which is not exploding for some reason, but I still do not see the point of the mongoose. originality 5/5 aesthetics 1/5 cornyness 5/5
I'm pretty sure you can get 32 fusion coils. I might be wrong, but I remember that from trying to get the elephant to fly a bunch of times.
Put the batteries together at the left, closest to the camera. Put the fusion coils further back, at the front (right) of the phantom. There isn't enough blue, and the explosions are too many and too small.
use vehicles for explosives, such as wraiths, ghosts, prowlers, and other covenant explosives, 1/5 ATM
Well, there being only a few Plasma Batteries, I couldn't do this so well. I'll try again, like Orange said, with vehicles, and see how it turns out.
i agree with some but disagree with others, i say there is originality, but ya i dont think its convincing, and people are right, the plasma battery's explosions should be in the front for realism. 4/5 originality 1/5 realism 3/5 simplicity
5/5 for originality because i dont get to see these kind of screenshots often. 1/5 realism because it did not decieve me into thinking it was a real crash. 3.5/5 looks, because it had a goose and a explosion,...
Good idea but add the convenant fusion coil to do a blue explosion ! ( In campaing when you destroy a phantom its a blue explosion ! )
You could place the power cores closer to the camera, to give the illusion that it is a larger asplosion.
People are saying things about how you can see the coils and stuff, if you maybe made the background less in focus so the pieces in the air were a bit blurrier that could work. Also, if you're having trouble getting enough blue explosion you could try to get a bunch of people to throw plasma nades and that way you wouldn't have to shoot the sniper and hurry to get into the mongoose. Cool picture though.
try putting most of the fusion coils inside the phantom then place the plasma cores on top you should get a nice colour mix
Nice idea, and a nice screenshot. That being said, I'll like to point a few things out. 1. You had a good idea to rig the phantom with explosivse, but if you used plasma batteries only, then it would have seemed more realistic. 2. If you had a power weapon like a spartan laser or rocket launcher on your back as you drove away, it would seem as though you used the weapon to shot the phantom down. These are all just some problems I had with it, but other then that, the shot is great. 4/5.
