The daily challenges are still sucking hard, especially on FF thursdays. The weekly challenges seem to be getting a reform, considering they are getting harder, and the payouts are getting better.
For anyone having a difficult time going through the challenge Deathless Spear, just save before the end... even if you die. Then restart from last save and you will still get the achievement. For anyone stuck in Elite Slayer, the needler counts as a "machine gun" for the Now I Have A Machine Gun challenge.
I'm curious what is the max amount of weekly challenges you can have at the moment. Because I think I've done them all but! when i first got game I didn't know much about challenges might of missed first one. Tried to figure it out but confusing time zones and i dunno when exactly they started. But after this weekly(killing 1000 in matchmaking) I will have 12 weekly challenges is that all of them? anyone have more than 12? anyone know?
First weekly challenge was to complete the campaign on Heroic or was it Legendary? I know I defeated it on Legendary solo, then I completed it with a friend co-op on Legendary. I only have 7 weekly challenges completed. I tend to pass the ones where I need to get a lot of multiplayer matchmaking kills or assists. As far as I can tell, including this weekly challenge... there should have been 12 total.
For X assists in firefight matchmaking, the best option is to use the grenade launcher in firefight matchmaking. You can usually get 25 assists per game.
This works, but depends on how you play. I find sticking near a friendly and just plasma overcharging everything works great too
Meh... I just enjoy sniperfight with any map that has covey dropships. Take the first shot on as many cannons as possible and let the others finish it off. Then I one shot Brute Chieftains, Elites, and ghosts. 2-3 shot Wraiths, Banshees, and Elite Heroes. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I think yesterday was the first day that I didn't even bother with completing any challenges... then again I just bought myself a new Sony Bravia 40" HDTV LCD and was fiddling around with that.
i take it the best way to do this weekly would just be to skip through Winter Contingency to the end ?
haven't attempted it yet but that seems to be the case. only a couple sticky spots, shouldn't be too hard 1000 kills wasn't too difficult but more satisfying. back to 4000 cr for the weekly? damn
May I direct everyone to this site. This guy posts the weekly and daily challenges within the hour with a very good explanation how to efficiently get each. Halo Reach Daily Challenges
Just got the weekly challenge having gotten 94/200 of those multikills today, and 86 of them yesterday. It's like the week before last all over again, started on Sunday with 525/1000 kills and kept playing until I got it. I really need to start managing my weekdays a little better. I also need to sleep, really need to sleep.
Having done something similar for the first challenge for 1,000 multiplayer matchmaking kills... kudos to you for pushing through to finish the challenge. Been a long time since I finished a weekly.
I got the first 1000 kill weekly by the thursday night, but that was when I was playing a decent amount every day. I've been playing less and less in the week recently, having to cram at the weekends isn't as fun as it should be, but worth the credits. Lol, it's starting to sound like Halo homework...
Yeah, I don't play as often anymore. I only do challenges that can be completed in Firefight. I just don't have the patience to go through all the Matchmaking games it would take to complete the multiplayer challenges. Firefight challenges require fewer games to complete.
True enough, I'm pretty much the opposite though. I've only ever completed MM challenges (or generic, 'any game mode' kill related ones) since it's all I play. I really should complete the campaign on this profile though, if only because it's easy credits.
I don't think it's the actual game that's making me lose interest. I actually don't mind all the new things Reach has brought to the table. I think it's just the playlists. When I played Halo 3, I strictly played custom Infection games. I get in, get on, and play the types of games I want to play. Never been a fan of Matchmaking due to the broad spectrum of games in the playlists. I'd keep playing Invasion, but got tired of players dropping out of games and being stuck as the guy without a spawn buddy. Probably why I don't mind completing the Firefight Challenges... I know exactly what game type I'll be playing. [br][/br]Edited by merge: On topic... this week's weekly challenge will give us one hell of a boost in cR. 100 waves is 20 games of Score Attack. At least 1,000cR per game will give us another 20,000cR. + 4,000cR for completing the challenge.
The 1,000 enemies killed on Courtyard will help me a lot with the weekly. It'll add at least 40 waves to the 25 I already have. Wasn't the "Stronger, Harder" challenge on just on the weekend?
fortified court=9 games of gruntpocolypse. easy as pie, and no "damn, i took down his shields and health and only got an assist!!" moments.
I think that was the one I spent all of Sunday getting the last ~790 kills for (I totally forgot about Halo for a week). Thankfully Christmas break is starting on Thursday (for me at least) so I'll have much more time to do the challenges. Like this weeks weekly, for example.
bah... I still try to accomplish challenges and like the weekly challenge. I'm just not fond of going into matchmaking to do any of today's challenges. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Meh... gave it a shot because I didn't wanna have to play catch up on the weekly challenge. Played one game of Invasion and got both the First Strike and 4 grenade kills challenges. [br][/br]Edited by merge: Anyone know of any Score Attack gametypes/maps that have the Target Locator? I rarely get them in the Firefight playlist because everyone else hogs them. [br][/br]Edited by merge: I love when I can play 1 game of campaign, save the game at the final cutscene, and restart the game to get the flawless on ONI challenge for 4,000 cR... have it as my 16th of 16 weekly challenge and get another 16,000 cR. Then play one game of Firefight on Holdout and use the Grenade Launcher as my first 20 kills for the J.H. Death Machine challenge for 1,500 cR, Kill 30 more enemies to complete the Heroic Holdout Challenge for another 1,000 cR, then get the remaining kills you need for the Shootin' and Lootin' Challenge for another 2,500 cR and get nearly 26,000 cR for basically playing only 2 games.
