Map Title: The Crescent Field Objective and slayer map Download Map Works with all standard gametypes Description: Crescent Field is a map that uses the entire space found within Foundry. The map is unique in that it nearly divides the entire map into half, except the area farthest from both team bases. The shape formed is similar to a crescent, which is where the map received its name. The shape allows for great team objective games, along with slayer based games as well. There are also varying levels on Crescent Field, which provide multiple routes to navigate through the map. Each section of the map requires a different tactic of survival, so weapon choice on the map is crucial. The structure of the map was tested and built to prevent camping and force player movement. All 3 levels of the map are easily accessible from multiple locations. There are at least 5 points of entry on every level, so it is crucial to continually move or you are likely to be flanked from behind or from the side. Each Base is equipped with a single battle rifle which continually respawns, along with a sniper rifle and a shotgun. Both the shotgun and sniper rifle have minimal ammo to prevent camping during slayer matches and other a-symmetrical gametypes. Each base is also provided with a bubble shield for defensive measures. At the highest central area of the map is a Spartan Laser. It has a great view of the entire map, but is susceptible to fire. The Spartan Laser is a key weapon to winning any match.
Hey Draw, welcome to Forge Hub. I think I saw an early version of this called U Turn or Horseshoe or something like that, right? Did you ever set this up for Territories? I still think it would make a great Land Grab game. By the way, I suggest adding some line breaks between those screenshots to help divide them.
From the screenshots I see, it looks a little messy. (Leaning walls, slanted boxes, etc.) Other than that, this map looks awesome! It must have taken a long time to make. I like the window pane thing you did in the hallway, where there is only a small slit in the wall to shoot out of. Cool idea! I would download, but it just doesn't look that good to me and I'd probably only end up removing it anyways.
This map is a great first impression. Oh and Furious, He said it's made for all the standard gametypes..
Thanks for the initial feedback! I believe the slanted boxes that you were referring to were the entrance boxes to the underground section. Those were intentionally made crooked to promote the player to turn in a certain direction. As for the walls, I've got some more work to do. I'll probably need to do some more polish work on the map....but you should really try playing on the map. Pictures help, but they don't show you everything. Take a quick run-through and you'll see.
Good idea, although I don't get how the title relates to the map design. It looks like this map could be used well for territories or Infection. The only reccomendation that I would have for you is that the map would look even better with some more tall structures/stories. Good efforts.
The map certainly works well with territories and is fun for infection gametypes. The name Crescent is supposed to describe the overall shape of the map. The map is essentially a "U" shape....or in a stretch....crescent shaped. The map was originally called Vision Division, but I was looking to change the name. I was also playing with the name "The Horseshoe" but the name just didn't sound as good. If anyone can think of a better name, let me know. I'm all ears. And my budget was maxed on this map, so even if I wanted to, I wouldn't have been able to add more. If I had a choice, I don't think I would add more levels. The level already plays exactly how I wanted it to.
I like how you made that "slit" in the wall using 2 window panels. I will probobly use that in a future SWAT map. Congratulations on finding out how to post maps. Great first post!
