THE CITADEL The citadel was a hard worked map and took a while to build. This map took the longest out of all of mine so far (Hurricane town v2 and v3). it includes a lot of interlocking a little geo-merging to top it all off. this took roughly 5-7 hours to make in total. i havent had much testing but when people try it later i will definatly make a V2. alltogether, i really like this. the map consists of a basic idea and layout, for those who have played Oblivion, the best RPG game ever you may see a resemblane (well only because i told you that) and it was based off of that. this is based off of one of the big towers in the plain of oblivion. it consists of three main floors. The map is made (so far) for KOTH and slayer. 3-6 players (or more i dont know. The first floor (the teleporters will be explained (you may have an idea if you've played oblivion)) A second floor and a third (sword may be removed in V2 if proven a problem) the floors each have a stair way to get up and down from, unless you choose to take the jump and risk landing in... The spiky lava pit of Death!!!! muhuhuhuhahahah! (i will put out a thank you for the work of Twilighdonut and his floating skills for the shild doors and Someguy798 for (attempting) to geo-merging this very annoying teleporters, it didnt work out so i decided to do it layzer, be he tried ( four times)) Here is what the stairs basically look like, this goes from floor 1 to floor 2. This on the other hand goes down to a lower floor, (from floor 2 to a closed of part of floor 1) it has a sticky and frag down there and a BR along with a spawn point. Weapon list (please note this isn't exact) Battle rifle 2 Needler 1 Spiker 1 Equipment Bubble sheild 1 power drain 1 plasma grenade 2-3 frag grenade 1-2 Thats basically it, now for some action previews. Sorry i have to comment on this, i was on floor one and i stuck him on floor 2, Woo! Ahh the glory of the death pit. Looks like a very fun map to play. I will definitly que this for download. I do have a feeling that the sword will get annoying as #$%^, though. Nice use of interlocking, and all-and-all, this might even make it to be features. Good job. EDIT: First Post, WOOT! Sorry, I had to be noobish there...
This name has already been used for a map. I highly suggest you go to edit on your thread and go to advanced settings to change your title. Actually, I think the original "The Citadel" was featured. I think this could get you infractions. I'm not exactly sure about that, but what i can garuntee you is some flame. Your map looks pretty clean otherwise. edit: nevemind you're set, couldn't find anything. I swore I saw a map called the citadel though. Maybe it's been deleted or locked, who knows. Otherwise I really like the layout of your map. It's like Paragon, you're not in Foundry. I suggest maybe making your teleporters look a little cleaner somehow though. Otherwise, I'd have to say that slayer would be best on this map, i don't know how ctf would work out.
Lol, it seems like verytime I have a brilliant idea for forge, someone posts it that night lol. This looks great to play, A little sloppy in some areas, but overall I bet it would have great gameplay, I'll try it if i can. 4.5/5 Love, Zachary9990
If you smooth out the pit, maybe by making it the literal first floor by building up, then I think the sloppyness would become moot. Onto the rest of the map. Layered structures like this always strike a good note with me for some reason. The staircases on the side look a bit off, and need improvement, hard as that might be. In a second iteration of this thing, I suggest making grav lift 'holes' in the ceilings, that provides easy and fast access to the upper floors faster.

the stari cases are a little messy, and the map isnt aligned very well mabey neaten up, take ut the sword (ownage ensues) the ideas great but the teleporter pit o deat vhould use some work mabey interlock a wall ofver them, you still get teleported through
Very unique, I like the "multi level-ness" of it. You always have to be on your toes. The map could be a bit neater, but the job you have done now doesn't really effect gameplay that much. I'd reconmend a V2, but don't change the design too much, you already have a solid setup. Nice job, 4.9/5
Good map. Just one thing though. It seems to me that the stairways are very narrow and will be like instant death. In V2, I think you should widen it them a tiny bit.
there is definatly going to be a V2 which may be posted today. yes it may be better but when oblivion 5 comes out that will be better, yes it is coming out. what? infractions for copying a name? ok then but anyway the death pit is messy but i will try to fix it. sorry dude thats spam, and yes i know it was messy, if you read the post it says that its been tryed but in all attemps it failed. Lolz! me to! but this was based directly from oblivion. and it is sloppy but it will be fixed, (probibly in a V3) 'holes'? what? well i was thinking of putting them in the center but i decided against it, makes gameplay more difficult for things like CTF a KOTH and possibly Territorys (there needs to be a shorter thing for that) can you please use proper English next time? but trust me Someguy tryed and i helped, if you think you could geo-merge the teleporters then please help. yes ive fully decided to replace the sword spawn (as in delete it) and move the power drain right there or a radar jammer, that would be fun and confusuing. No, if you would have taken the time to read the last part of my message, maybe you wouldn't be so offended. Having a thought, or remembering something if O.K. in the world. I am 100% sure that there was a map named either Citadel or The Citadel. Also, a lack of reading, I said that I'M NOT SURE, but you MIGHT receive infractions for copying a name. Also I said, if you don't you CAN get flame. Otherwise, insulting or critisizing posts on your thread won't get you a good reputation or more correct feedback. Again, I'll say, it seems CTF would be pretty rough on this map, and I did test your map. Just clearing things up, hopefully there won't be any unneeded spam on your thread, I know it's not good, but it's a pretty common thing in FH.
dude, nice map. i was there in the prossess of building, it was boring at first but the finished product.. AWESSOME! i like that it's based off of oblivion. BUT the spiky lava pit of death should be a bit more creative, perhaps a versoin 2 is coming? well thus concluding, great map, forgasmic interlocking and geomerging and mah rating 5/5.
This seems to be more of a "keep", (a tower of final defense) within the final defense of a Citadel. The construction looks solid, but one aspect troubles me, Is there more than one way up to each floor? Single entrances tend to lead to camping and repetative gameplay.
um yah i did read your passage bottom and all, so dont freak out. and i realize that you said MIGHT. unessesary post. why thank you, youve seen the progression and even the V2 which is being released tomorrow. lucky you. thanks for actually hitting the button for rate. never heard of keep. is that a map? and yes there is only 1 way up each floor, but nothing has happened in the tests. i took out the sword and made some additions to the map for V2 (which is released tommorow so keep your eye on the fourms)
The levels would be a problem. Having a big hole in the all the floors would ruin it. But that's just my opinion.
I took a look at this map just yesterday. Here is a review of what I thought about the map. Now these are only opinions so don't let them bring you down about your map. Map Creativity 3.5/5 The map was lacking something. From either a bigger map or maybe more spread out. I dont know. In my opinion, it wasn't a very standout is map. There wasn't any cool aesthetics or a building that really stood out. All there was were three floors and a death pit. One bright spot is the idea of falling would lead to your death. This idea is really over used now, but I thought it fit in with this map just fine. Map Quality 4.5/5 There a few things that had crooked interlocking. Like where you start, I looks over to my right and saw the corner walls were very crooked. This could be fixed in a V2. Other than that, the bridges and the walls and the stairs for that matter were interlocked well. Weapon Layout/Choice 4/5 The choice in my opinion was good. The only thing was the sword. I dont really think it really fit with the map. One suggestion would be to take out the sword and maybe replace it with a rocket launcher with 120 spawn time and no clips. This would add a long range but powerful weapon to the weapon choice. The shotgun on the bottom level is fine though. This fit in perfectly. Gameplay 4.2/5 The gameplay was alright but I do think it is only for smaller team games like 1v1 or 2v2. If you fit to many people in this map it would just be hectic. And not very fun. Overall 4.3/5 The only problem for me was the lack of originality, the sword in the middle, and the crooked interlocking. The weapon choice and the interlocking could be fixed in a V2. Another suggestion is maybe add some interesting aesthetics. If you do a V2 with all of those changes, you are surely going to get a 4.8/5. A 5 point difference. And remember, these are just opinion so don't get pissed at me. This is just my opinion. Final Score 4.3/5
