    Hey fellas, new to these forums.

    It is 930am and I've been online all night so I need to keep this short. My B.net page should explain a bit more.

    Basically, while trying to be modest, I must say that my map is structurally better than the current remake that is circulating around.

    The level of detail and care put into this map is unreal, I can't even begin to explain it.
    35 hours should at least warrant a view at the FIVE screenshots.

    This map is as true to Halo 1's Chill Out map as anyone has yet to prove possible. The level of detail and care in this map is sure to make any Halo CE fan happy. I have spent an ungodly amount of time on this. This is Chill Out. This is not the same Chill Out map you have seen before. This one has been crafted, nurtured and only now, released =)

    This map works with all original Halo CE gametypes (FFA, TS, CTF, KING, ODDBALL, also 1-flag)

    Please download this map and share it with your friends. Also, please let me know of any weak points in the map structure or spawning.

    Please tell me if the link downloads correctly. I changed some things, removed and re-added the map to my file share. I am afraid people will try to DL the version that is not on my fileshare (or is it???)

    I can tell from your forge pictures that yours spawns need a lot of work, but great layout.

    There's not enough spawns, and in the wrong places. But that's just from looking at the screenshots. It also seems pretty plain and ramshackle, maybe you should add some more floors or scenery.

    And 35 hours? Maybe you should join a dating site.

    Looks structurally very accurate, from the screenshots, except there is no small ramp from the main room into rocket room...

    Constructive criticism please, not stupid comments.

    Sorry Theta. Anyway, I checked out the map, and I am tempted to say it's thrown together BUT you actually ran out of money. So you have an excuse. However, I still have some problems:
    - The teleporter in the center leads to the (yellow team's) flag room.
    - You shouldn't place the powerups in such obvious and open places, as well as putting spawn points right next to them.
    - There's a teleporter in one of the bases that leads directly into the opponents base!
    - You're placing grenades of the same kind in clusters of three. We can only carry two.
    - You also placed two of the same non-dual weapons together often (for example: two needlers on the center bridge).

    Also, when pitching a map in a new thread, a longer (but not too boring) description would be nice. Make it more accessible to those who haven't played Halo 1 A lot of people wouldn't know what the "pink room" or anything was. Posting screenshots and direct links are better than just posting a link to your fileshare.

    And I know you mentioned that it only works with the original map's available gametypes, but you could easily make it work for assault and others, and it would be more appealing. Plus you'd be improving on the original. It's better to say "it works with EVERYTHING" instead of "it doesn't work with this stuff."

    You DO realize that this is a remake of Halo 1's Chillout...right?

    Yeah I know, I said that. I'm just saying, I never liked Chillout, so if he wanted he could make it better. In my opinion at least.

    :surprise: How could you not like Chillout? It was so fun 2v2's Sniper Pro.

    Chillout was great, in my opinion. Different tastes are all valid of course. Regardless, thanks for the much better post, Poztar.

    I just never got the hang off of it! To be honest, I really sucked when Halo CE first came out, ESPECIALLY with snipers. But anyway, a lot of Chillout's old features don't really work out/apply in Halo 3, so modifying it as necessary seemed fit.

    Hm, yeah I think if I was going to do a remake I'd do a completely true to the original version, and a fresh take on it halo 3 style version, and release both together, to suit all tastes. Not to hate at all on the long time you put into this, cardo.

    Hey guys, I've been at work all night.

    I'll try to respond to certain concerns later today, but in the mean time...

    This is Version ONE of this map.

    I am open to suggestions regarding anything in this map. Please be specific. If the spawns are 'terrible', please tell me what should be changed or forge the spawns yourself for the community. I placed most spawns in the two main rooms b/c I wanted an immediate firefight to take place and (semi) equal spawns relative to the goodies on the map.

    I have been thinking about inviso room for a long time, I know it is a weak point in the map but please consider the resources that are available. Compromises are EVERYWHERE.

    This map is meant to be played with people who know that they should not exploit the ability to get out of the map. This is not a matchmaking map where people jump off the ledge over and over until time expires. Just make sure that everyone in your custom game knows not to exploit...shouldn't be too hard. (I am always trying to seal it off, though)

    I have also thought about forging an H3 version with the new stuff as well, please give me time.

    I will move the warp as close to the wall as possible in pink room. I have noticed something that can counter the inability to enter that particular warp backwards. If you jump from needles onto the TOP of the pink warp sender, you will be THROWN into the pink room at a faster speed. (Tele-running)

    I haven't played 4v4 Chill Out on Halo CE in a LONG time, so remembering the spawns under fire isn't too easy. As I recall, spawning in front of fighting people was pretty common, the map is the size of a shoe box =) I did start Halo PC up a few times to check out some specifics about the map, including spawns.

    btw...I am OVER my spending budget and I have an annoying ceiling above, but I am going to try.
