Welcome, sit back and talk about cars. Any upcoming news, reviews, comparisons, maybe share with us a project perhaps? Hell, even post your own car if you'd like. Really just anything car related. Couple of rules: 1. Don't just post a pic and be on your way, we don't appreciate your kind around here. 2. Don't bash, man. And that's about it. Have fun.
Its about time. Forgehub needed this. I need a good 4 seater vintage car up to $35k. Im looking at oldsmobile and stuff right now. This is a great place to look up cars Vehicles for Sale | Hemmings Motor News
That's a pretty big budget. Anything more precise? German, Japanese, American, British? Cabriolet or hardtop? Sedan, coupe? Sports car, maybe?
Apparently only 90 hours construction if you don't want to pay £3000 for them to do it for you? It's a shame i think they are fugly. edit; or just pounce on all of the losers who bought one and decided they don't like it after 500 miles http://www.caterham.co.uk/assets/html/preowned/preowned_more_details.html?ID=354
I think it's just way easier to pick up a lightweight japanese sports car and tune it for the track. You can do soooo much with an Mx-5 or a 240sx.
Karmann Ghia. Absolutely awesome cars to just go cruising, especially when you go for the cabriolet version (If you can find one near you). I think even if you go and just get a nice rolling body and just restoring it from the ground up will be more fun. That's my suggestion.
Very beautiful car. I will be keeping my eye on this one. Thanks Shannon! [br][/br]Edited by merge: It would look silly on an Audi. It. It just doesn't fit. And for a first car, the insurance will be very high.
Yeah, one of my Dad's friends has one (Cabriolet version). I never got a chance to take a dride in it, but man was it just an awesome experience to just ride in the back seat in the Spring time here in California. I've been thinking about just restoring one myself... probably when I'm done with school.
I just bought a blue 96' Jetta two weeks ago. 80,000 miles. Out the door plus tax and title it came out to be $3,800. Just a couple of days ago I put one of my 15s in, so I can bump a bit.
Oh man. Dude, the parts on that car are pretty damn expensive. What kind of head unit do you have, Camo? I'll probably post some picture of the system of my Lancer Es when I get the time.
GTis are just medicore powered, wannabe sportscars for elderly people who can't afford a decent german car, or for teenagers who want to act like they own a fast car to impress their friends. There is nothing about a GTI that justifies it's prize. Sure, it's reliable and since it's a VW, you get a good car. But on the other hand, it looks boring and it's too ugly to say it's an "understatement" car. For the money you'd had to spend to get a GTI, consider these options: 2009 Renault Clio RS Picture 1 | Pictue 2 You'll save yourself a lot of money, and you'll get a better car (in my opinion ... especially since I own one ). You'll get a lightweight car with a 2.0L engine and 200hp that will beat a lot of bigger cars with better engines. It looks a lot more aggresive then a GTI, without having too much useless/ugly aesthetics. The interior also looks a lot better, especially when you have a yellow clio. The rev counter is yellow, just like the seatbelts and the black/yellow recardo sport seats (you'll have to pay extra for them) The only downside, compared to a GTI, is that you don't have a build in turbo charger 2009 Seat Ibiza Cupra Picture 1 | Picture 2 Since Seat is owned by VW, a lot of parts are very similar to Golfs or Polos. I never drove the Cupra, but it got a very impressive 180hp 1.4L twincharged engine with a seven speed direct shift gearbox. With such a small engine and the seven speed direct shift gearbox, I'm sure you'll save a lot of fuel, while you still have a lot of performance due to the turbo and supercharger.
I'm not even sure those are available in the US. lol But yeah, why a GTI, Fbu? There are a ton of hatchbacks that can outperform a GTI. Off the top of my head: - Mazda3speed Power: 263 HP ( 196 kW) @ 5,500 rpm; 280 ft lb of torque ( 380 Nm) @ 3,000 rpm - Genesis Coupe 3,303 pounds, putting out 220 hp with peak torque (223 lb.-ft.) arriving at 2,000 rpm. - Subaru WRX 265 HP @ 6000, 244 ft lb of torgue @ 4000 And all, like the GTI, can be tuned very easily.
