Yea at first I kinda wondered where all these girls came from and the I asked myself, "Self, let's put two and two together here." It didn't take long to realize that this was a joke, albeit a horribly overused one. To some it's funny, others its pointless. I say who cares? Let the kids have their fun. They'll grow bored soon enough as most kids do with any trend and find a new trend to take part in.
