I just finished Natsuyuki Rendevous, and I highly recoommend it to anyone that likes stuff similar to AnoHana and Angel Beats. It hs the same sort of depressing/happy ending that those do
I just finished watching angel beats, very good and at the end of each episode I felt inclined to click the next episode button haha, Spoiler from the very beginning of angel beats I thought that angel was not a bad person, which I was proven correct about halfway through the series. The series had a bit of everything for many different viewers. There was comedy, action, and romance and the three combined quite well into the story. At the end of the graduation when angel disappeared I knew that after being reborn that she and the main character would eventually re-unite (which they did) and fall in love(which I think they did.) also making angel the recipient of the main characters heart to me was quite brilliant. Very good series I enjoyed it.

ermagohd, spoilers. but really, you accidently put a slash in the first segment of the bbcode Angel Beats was a good one. I personally didn't get the intended impact out of the ending. It just felt lackluster and unconclusive in a sense although the director did create an afterstory later on. Nonetheless, I loved the series. Glad you liked it. Do posts take a long time to actually post for anybody else here? It only seems to happen in this thread, hahaha.
No, but for some reason it decides to post stuff twice alot. I usually catch it and delete the doublepost but it looks like not everyone does. I finished Broken Blade yesterday, it was a good mech anime, even though it still falls into the newtype/chosen one cliche. Basically, people in it can use magic to control quartz, and the main character (& his younger brother) cannot. They are the only known people who cannot do magic. The king finds an ancient mech that nobody is able to use, and by deus ex machina, main character guy actually can use it. He isnt particularly talented or anything, he just has his special mech that is bajillions times better than all the others. He also has very heavy plot armor. And despite the cliches, I still liked it. It is a series of 6 movies, each at ~1 hour, so it is essentially equal to 18 episodes of a normal anime.
The W Trailer for RWBY is supposed to be coming "Soon, soon" and the first episode will be at RTX. Was interesting listening to Miles and Gus talk about Anime on the podcast yesterday. Apparently they think Avatar is anime.
Let us not go down the Avatar path. Excited for the W trailer. I assume the B and Y trailers will follow soonish.
yeah, lets avoid that nail in the road, discussion tends to get rowdy when that comes up. Anyone got a good dark mystery for me to watch?
it's been brought up at one point in this thread, but Tekkonkinkreet. that guy goes right up there next to Princess Mononoke as favorite anime movie. as a HUGE fan of the animatrix (i always say those bad matrix sequels were worth it because of it), it hit me right in the sweet spot. Art style is right up my alley. and not to feed any anime vs western animation fires, but i consider all animation animation.
Mononoke wasnt really a mystery, but I'll try the animatrix. I always fall asleep half way through tekkonkinkreet, no real idea why, it isnt particularly boring... it just puts me to sleep.
Managed to get hold of Fate/Stay night. I love it, even though I can predict how it's gonna turn out cause I've seen Fate/Zero.
I watched a movie recently that had a scene in it that was almost lifted straight out of Mononoke. I think it may have been Snow White and the Huntsman. They had a simmilar looking Deer as sort of a forrest god that had pretty much the same powers and everything except the face. Wich is good because if they had tried to CG that face in it would have not only been a complete rip off but creepy as ****.
I watched the entirety of high school of the dead yesterday. Had myself a little anime day I guess. Spoiler It was enjoyable enough. The storyline isn't exactly what kept me clicking the"next episode" button but rather the comic attitudes of the characters despite being in their situations. I feel like there is a season 2 but I have not looked it up. I feel that there might be because the end came rather suddenly for me.
