1. Maes Hughes (FMA Brotherhood) 2. Saber/Rider/Lancer vs Caster (Fate/Zero) 3/4. (I think this one fits for both 3 AND 4, for me at least) Spice and Wolf @Auburn, when I said that I meant newer as in after 2000. I was thinking more of Akira and Trigun as ones that would belong on the list. (which albeit, are pretty old)
900 posts everyone! When we get to 1000 I'll do something special Mine are: 1. Ui (K-On) 2. Lord Death vs Asura (Soul Eater) 3. Strike Witches 4. Angel Beats

Speaking of clannad, just finished the series. Felt kind of similar to toradora, i liked toradora more though. Starting afterstory, on ep3 EDIT: on episode 16. damn this is getting good EDIT2: finished. Damn.
Haha, the first season was not as heartbreaking as the second. It is truly the saddest anime I have ever watched. Ano Hi mita comes in second though.
Adding Ano Hi Mita to my list of things I need to watch. I personally didn't care for Clannad though, couldn't even make it through the first season. EDIT: I might have to give it another shot.
Do eeett Aschur. I agree though, the series can be boring if you're not into the genre. It's the same with Ano Hi Mita. I love the OP for Ano. The music flows so well with the animation at some parts, something I rarely see these days. EDIT: Well, I just watched the OP again and remembered how much I love it. It's definatly one of my favorites.
you know what, I've read some doujinshi for Ano hi mita before, I just never realized it til now, since they called it Ano hana for the doujin. Anaru is cool.
AnoHana is used for the anime too, just another abbreviation for its rediculously long title, haha. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. Aschur, Sword Art Online is apparantly getting good reception. I don't like starting ongoing anime, but I'm going to watch it tonight. Spoiler Deus Ex is the latest videogame franchise to fall victim to a Hollywood movie adaptation, with Square Enix and CBS Films announcing it will be adapted into a film. CBS Films say it will be based on or around the events of Human Revolution, and that it will actually involve Eidos in the production: “As is clear from the wild success of the game, Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal know how to exceed their audience’s expectations by engineering incredible worlds. No one knows ‘Human Revolution’ like the team that created it, and we look forward to working with them from day one to make a film adaptation worthy of the ‘Deus Ex’ name.” Roy Lee, producer of such masterpieces as “Lego: The Piece of Resistance,” and Adrian Askarieh, producer of the almost equally esteemed “Kane and Lynch” movie, have been announced as the producers of what is sure to be an exciting tour de force which be widely appreciated by fans of the game whilst making it more accessible to a mainstream audience. The production schedule has so far not been made public. Square Enix is gushing forth enthusiasm in spite of the universally dire history of Hollywood’s videogame adapted movies: “As the millions of fans who have played the ‘Deus Ex’ games for more than a decade will tell you, these games catapult you into a universe that is stimulating, engaging and relevant. We’re firm believers in building strong partnerships, and so we’re thrilled to be working with CBS Films on bringing the unique ‘Deus Ex’ experience to the bigscreen.”
Watched the first episode of Sword Art. Definatly interesting. I wonder how many episodes it will have because it doesn't seem like they could fit the whole story into just 24 episodes. Spoiler I lol'd so hard when everybody's true image was revealed. Also, I'm going to start an anime called Usagi Drop. It's apparantly up there with Clannad and Ano Hi Mita, so I look forward to watching.
They sure as hell better not try to make it a 12 episode series, I will flip **** if they do that to another promising anime. (like Kamisama no Memochou) On a separate note, going back to talking bout AnoHana, I just finished it up right now. Wow, it was good. Like, REALLY good. I think it really compounded the sadness because I watched it all back to back with no breaks. **** man, I thought the end of Spice and Wolf was sad, this has it beaten by far. I think I cried for every episode past the halfway mark. Damnit, now I can't read AnoHana Doujinshi without crying. I need to go watch some fanservice anime so I can sleep without being sad.
Yeah. Going to watch that or angel beats next. That or nichijou or madoka, idk. Clannad AS spoiler Spoiler I dont really know why, but the entire story sad as it was, didnt affect me too much. The entire story was very sad but i didnt feel like the message was too strong, or maybe i couldnt relate to it. When i finished others the feeling stuck with me. After it i thought, "wow that was ****ing great.", this one didnt. Maybe im just growing tired of the whole genre. I dont know, i liked it alot, but i feel like i shouldve liked it more.
Yep, I will be disappointed if Sword Art is anything less than 50 episodes. The ending credits excited me the most, kind of got a glimpse at what's to come. Haha, I cried too man. Even the atmosphere throughout the anime was sad, similar to After Story. I'm thinking about watching it again, haha. Huge Clannad spoilers and stuff: Spoiler I think the reason it affected me was because Okazaki slowly built up a good relationship with his daughter, only to see her die in the end, leaving him all alone. Not to mention, Nagisa's death halfway through the series. I can't relate to either of those scenarios [too young to marry anyway], but they were still heartfelt for some reason. Perhaps it's because I'm a sucker for the genre. I'm just glad they had the alternate ending, haha.
Okay, in my search for new upcoming horror anime I came across this: Ito Junji I know its supposed to be horror, but the idea of a zombie shark scuttling around on land with robot legs is ****ing HILARIOUS to me. [WARNING, there ARE bits of gore and nastiness in the video] Also, not anime related but, Avatar the legend of Korra is getting a second season. Galaxy Express 999 45. A Little Snow Fairy Sugar 46. Night on the Galactic Railroad Anyhow, what do you think of these lists?
I agree with the science fiction list for the most part, although I don't believe Denpa Onna should have been included. I understand the general idea was about aliens, but there was so little relevance to anything supernatural throughout the anime that it's not practical to compare that aspect with anime such as FMA or Index. In my opinion, it felt like a slice of life. Also, that list is in serious need of Gundam, haha. If you have titles like Code Geass and Evangelion (giant mechs) than that anime should be in there somewhere as well. As for fantasy, I pretty much completely agree with teh ones I have seen. Perhap they could add Shuffle. I thought that was a pretty good anime. EDIT: Haha, mechanical sharks.
Clannad spoilers and stuff: Spoiler Yeah, i feel it was sad to think about the loss of nagisa and how sad it would be to all of them. I really wished they wouldve focused a bit on how her parents felt about their daughters death but they didnt even touch on it.
Well... I kinda linked them because most of it is stuff I've seen already. Some of the stuff I haven't had the time or patience to watch currently though. Like PLANETES. I started up on Hayate the Combat Butler just for shits and giggles now. I also started the new gender-bent Oda Nobunaga crap that they seem to release year after year. This one is slightly better but I'm still incredibly burned out on that type of show since there are literally like 50 others on the same premise. Link to the one I'm talking about There also are Sengoku Collection and Battle Girls - Time Paradox, for recent ones of this type.
Does anyone have The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamiya subbed and in the right order? I tired watching dubbed last night but the voice actor for Haruhi is really bad and her voice pisses me off. I also finished Bakemonogatari last night. What's the follow-up series called?
