It'd be awesome if all of us went to an anime convention together, I've personally never gone to one.
I'd love to go to an anime convention too, but I've never even heard of one taking place around here. There isn't anything anime related within 100 miles of where I live unfortunatly. I've read short news articles on them, but what exactly are they? Just a rave of anime fans and clearance prices? As a sidenote, I found some funny GIFs for anybody who has seen Code Geass. They call him "Spinzaku". Spoiler The second one is most lolworthy.
You guys dont have a local comic con? Its prettymuch all anime/manga related and some video game stuff
If I had a job I'd pitch in to fly you over to america, Sky. Alas, I don't yet have one. Maybe I could get one at that anime shop commandermatt was talking bout or at Fye due to my awesomeness. (By awesomeness, I mean the amount of anime I've seen and know about anime)
We need to do this! Also, anyone who hasn't watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica should do so. It's a very good story and is very touching. The AMVs people make are pretty awesome too. I nearly cried watching Sekirei last night too. Damn those emotional attachments to the characters and the way they display the relationships between them! Stop killing off the characters who have the most to lose! Some of those epic AMVs. They don't contain any major plot spoilers as far as I've seen. If we're doing AMV's I'm in, I finally got internet back. Spoiler [B☆RS] Black Rock Shooter AMV - Blue Flame - YouTube AMV - Orion » Nisemonogatari - YouTube Steins;Gate AMV - Empty Walls - YouTube
Can someone suggest a mystery/horror anime for me? Preferably not something older like Higurashi. It should be kinda similar to: Another Umineko no koro ni Monster Shiki (not an anime, a game) Corpse Party
That Anime shop is family ran sorta thing and since it is an Anime shop in a place like Memphis it doesn't see all that much business unfortunately. And don't worry, I tried to get a job there... As for the earlier post regarding what is Anime Cons, well, it's a convention where weeaboos, and other Anime fans gather (Usually dressed in costume) to hang and be with people who knows, and love Anime. (That's the whole appeal to going to a convention) The con has lots of panels/events on tons of different things regarding Asian culture and for although Anime Cons generally attract the younger con-goers (Teens - early 20's) there is even panels/events geared towards the 18, and 21+ crowd. (Hentai, Cosplay Off, 21+ PJ party, etc...) And in other news, I just returned from the Memphis convention so that was a ton of fun, This marked the 6th Anime con I've attended with a Press/Media Pass, and about the 12th Anime con I've attended total. (Yeah, I travel to cons a lot)
How about Elfen Lied? I personally haven't watched the anime, but I read some of the manga a while back thinking it was a romantic comedy. The only other I could think of is Blood Plus. I actually haven't completely finished this one because I'm missing the final dvd. As you can see, I'm not a big fan of the genre. Thanks for explaining that Matt. I'm pretty sure we don't have anything like that around here, haha. It's too bad because I really would like to go to one, though I wouldn't dress up.
Unfortunately I've seen both of those already (unfortunate because I've already seen them, not because they were bad or anything like that.) Well, for now I'll have to finish up Sankarea, Shiki, Fate/Zero and a few others. Also, one of the first AMV's I ever saw and liked. Spoiler [AVM] - Laughing Man, Ghost in the Shell - YouTube
There's always Occult Academy if you're looking for mystery. It's more on the light hearted side though, thus is the reason I was reluctant to mention it before. I might have already recommended it the last time you asked.
That's all I can think of. You can try searching the highest ranking anime in each genre on MAL. Well, I was going to link them, but it's not possible apparantly.
Yup. I'm starting to think I've reached the point where I've seen most anything that is worth to see that isn't new and/or ongoing. I hope I'm wrong.
Watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, the series, not just the Rebuilds. Watch Higurahsi and finish up Haruhi.
