The Anime & Manga Thread

I haven't posted on this site for about a year I believe, primarily coming back for the omnom thread and what have you. I feel the sincere need to share my thoughts here and hopefully introduce something new to you all~
Now I'm certain this **** has been done before in here, but here's a list of my top five or so, not necessarily in order that I like them.
1. Chrome Shelled Regios. I'm not sure if you guys have heard of it or not, I know I hadn't until I happened upon it in the netflix tabs, but it's amazing. I can't speak for the manga form of it, but the anime is incredibly well done.
2. Angel Beats. I see sigs with it in here so I don't think I need to comment.
3.Code Geass. Another one I'll just assume everyone knows.
4.Darker than Black. Another more off beat one I believe but I hope some of you have heard it of it, quite violent n stuff.
5.Magi (it's a manga). It's pretty new to the online scene, someone's been scanlating it for a few months now I'd say and is at about 90 chapters. It's just been amazing, best thing I've read in a long while.

I read an article about it titled " Lupin III: Suprise Breast Anime". After viewing multiple images of breasts I have come to the conclusion that it is not an anime for me, lol. I might give it a shot though.

I haven't even heard of Chrome Shell Regios. Excuse me while I eagerly look up the trailer.

 

It's not distasteful portrayal of breasts, its not like they just whip them out like say... HoTD. You just have to be careful about who is around while its on, probably. I just thought I would make its existence known because it really reminded me of the older good anime like Trigun even though its a completely different genre.

1. death note all episodes except the last.... (i wanted light to win) made me braindead

4. digimon (seasons 1-3) screw the newest 1st and movie are the best
5. full metal alchemist (good plot and i loved the way it's the 1930's)
6. BOBOBOBOBOBOBo OMG can't stop laughing
7. Reborn ( i think i'm addicted to the really stupid, loving, or mindbending animes)
8. Durarara!!! (good storyline it short and good at the end)
9. fruit basket (if i said anything i'm afraid of losing my manhood)
10. you might laugh but skip beat ( made me laugh, cry, and love)

I enjoyed Girls Bravo.
It was most interesting.

 

I'm getting the feeling that both Fate/Zero and the new Lupin the Third series will make it into my top 10 list once they are completed. Fate/Zero is little over half way done and is ****ing AMAZING, assuming you liked Fate Stay-Night since Zero is the prequel.

Lupin the Third though, its only one episode in so it's a tad too early to actually say anything. Although that first episode gives me good hopes for the rest of it.

Watched the first episode of Sankarea, what I assume to be an ecchi based around a highschool guy that has a thing for zombie girls in movies. He meets a suicidal girl and she ends up becoming a zombie for him and then its romance from there I suppose. Very odd premise, gonna have to see where they take it. I won't recommend until I get a good grasp on what its gonna be like.

Sengoku Collection is just an average ecchi/harem looking one so far, with the whole gender swapped warring states heroes getting warped into modern day japan.

In other anime news;
Persona 4 will have the same english voice actor cast as the game did according to Sentai Filmworks.

Also, Aniplex of America is to release Bakemonogatari in well, you guessed it, America.

Lastly, a new anime by Shinichiro Watanabe, that guy who did Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo... you know, those anime people were arguing about earlier in here (myself and others). Well, this one is called Kids on the Slope. Taking place in 1966, it looks to have a semi-delinquent as the main character who learns the awesomeness of Jazz music. It seems to be different from his past work, but I doubt it'll be BAD since it's from him.

To Love-Ru technically is getting a 3rd season. For me, number one would be a tie between Spice and Wolf and To Aru Majutsu. I wanted to backhand somebody when I found out they weren't getting another season.

 

I'd say Spice and Wolf (durr) and The World God Only Knows should have gotten 3rd seasons, I understood why they left To Aru Majutsu where they did, but the former I have no real idea why they didn't continue. Another I'd want to add would be Darker than Black.

 

Long time no post

Rosario + Vampire should get it's 3rd season as well. The manga is pretty far, so I think they should add more to the anime, like introducing Moka's other sisters.

 

I actually would like to see a 3rd season of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I would love to see a third season of Darker than Black.

I get the feeling Keita is not going to end up with either of the sisters, but instead the timid girl who's name I can't recall. I would say the teacher, but dat age difference.

I would want another season of Gantz as well, but they ended the second one differently than the manga continued so I doubt they have any plans of continuing it. They also ended it just around when the manga started to get crazy (like super freaky aliens that morph 30 billion times then their blood explodes or something weird like that) so, it may actually have been the right decision.

Sad thing about most of these harem-esque anime though, the guy almost always goes for the first girl that they show to you, regardless if he has a girl that he's known since childhood that has a ****ing huge crush on him or whatever.

Look at Highschool DxD and Rosario X vampire, in DxD main character first sees the club president... promptly decides she is the woman for him. Rosario, guy crashes into Moka, then basically ignores the other girls feeling towards him.

I just don't really like this stereotype since I usually end up really wishing one of the other girls got together with the guy, but know they never actually will.

 

Can I ask why the fascination with animated cartoon breasts? Every other post I read in here makes mention of them in some way.

Have you guys never played with a real set or something?
