Was browsing the internet last night and I found quite a few anime series that are available on DVD/blu-ray. Not sure if I should buy them but I'm quite a materialistic person and I like owning hard copies of stuff just because it feels more authentic. What do you guys think? Most of them are around the £30 mark (~$50) Also Berb, you should try watching Soul Eater, as should anyone who has not yet watched it as it's very good and mixes action with some funny comedy. Go watch it.
If you mean the shows I found on DVD/Blu-Ray, I found Angel Beats, Highschool of the Dead, Soul Eater and Hyakka Ryorkan Samurai Girls.
i bought samurai champloo and FLCL on blu-ray, both pretty nice upscales. Champloo is particularly beautiful. and berb, id listen to sky here because i dont think Gurren Lagann is a good place to start. lol.
Lol, Angel Beats and Soul Eater are both normal anime. HOTD and HRSG are ecchi. I don't care if people know what I'm watching.
I love my new avatar, thank god I have photoshop and am good with it. (character in avatar is Kuma from Persona 4, in a costume that will be in the psp or psv re-release of the game) Something some of you might know already, but I just found out: Fate / Zero is scheduled to have the second half of it air sometime later this year. They divided the series in two so they could have higher quality animation in both halves rather than average animation in the entire thing. I found this out because I just recently finished the first half, and looked up what happened to the rest of it. So far as it goes, I like it A ****LOAD more than Fate/stay night in terms of how it looks. Dunno how much I will like its story though, the end of Fate/stay night struck me as pretty sad, so it will be kinda hard to beat that. I know I like an anime when I actually get sad at the end.
Katanagatari. I just now remembered to mention this anime and I recommend it for anyone into action, adventure, comedy, and some romance. It has very unique stylized visuals with themes ranging from traditional japanese art to modern fighting games while keeping everything simple throughout. It's a bit too focused on dialogue at times, but other than that is exceptional. Just gonna ask, are his eyes like that in the actual anime? If so thats... odd. In fact alot of the eyes look odd.
Lol, yes. I actually like the way the eyes are designed though. It's a break from the normal, generic anime ones. lol, speaking of generic...Every Anime Opening Ever Made - YouTube
Believe it or not, the design actually looks good, especially the eyes. Animation is really taking a step foward nowadays.
animation has been taking steps forward for a while, especially now that you can tell the difference from an anime from before 2008 and now by just looking at it. Also, what anime is that last video from? It looks like it has so many characters that it must be hectic...
twas not obvious. The video's pretty entertaining though. It must have took ages to download and compile all of those sequences.
Just cause I feel like posting it again. AMV Hell 3 pt.1 - YouTube Shame I can't find the full length version anymore.
Agreed. That anime needs more recognition. It's not the greatest, but better than most popular anime. Here's the newest list: Top epoch-making anime Spoiler This basically means the most memorable, historic, influential anime. 1. Neon Genesis Evangelion 2. Mobile Suit Gundam 3. Space Battleship Yamato 4. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 5. Card Captor Sakura 6. K-ON! 7. Dragon Ball 8. Sailor Moon 9. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind 10. Puella Magi Madoka Magica 11. Pokemon 12. Astro Boy 13. Lupin III 14. Ghost in the Shell 15. Mazinger Z 16. Lucky Star 17. Spirited Away 18. Princess Mononoke 19. Future Boy Conan 20. Akira 21. Doraemon 22. Touch 23. Sazae-san 24. Magical Princess Minky Momo 25. Macross: Do You Remember Love? I would consider this list to be in the same category as the "anime that revolutionized the industry" one, but lists will be lists. At least Akira and Neon Genesis are in it.
Are we linking OP's from great anime then? If so, check these ones out. Spoiler Choucho sings: Kami-Sama no Memo-chou OP - YouTube Darker than Black op - YouTube Ghost Hound Opening # 1 - YouTube Ergo Proxy OP [HD] - YouTube Samurai 7 Opening Song (HD): Mangekyo/Unlimited by Nanase Aikawa - YouTube Xam'd: Lost Memories ( Mirai Nikki OP 2 Guilty Crown Opening 1 [My Dearest] Creditless - YouTube [C] The Money of Soul and Possibility Control OP - YouTube That last one of mine is a case that the OP is better than the anime itself IMO, so I linked it anyways even though the anime is meh. I would have linked more, but I wanted to keep them all the actual OP videos, not the full songs with static images.
