Thanatos

    In Greek mythology, Thánatos was the offspring of night and darkness and was the daemon personification of death. He was actually associated with non-violent death which I felt was ironic considering the violence of Reach. My Thánatos is a small symmetrical map that works well with 4v4 or less. The map doesn’t look very big, but its layout is made to keep you on your toes. Four teleports and a number of routes help to get from the top level to the lower levels. No red base so red spawns in green. Thánatos has been completed for a while now (at least structurally). I made some adjustments to the original weapon set I placed on the map. I’m usually not one to use FX since they can cause lag and it is usually overkill. I did however use them in this map to bring out the color. I grow tired of forging gray maps, so sometimes FX and lighting can help break up the monotony of forge world’s countless shades of gray. I only set this map up for slayer game types. SWAT game types also work well.

    Jeez, I'm suprised not more people have commented on this map. Your style of forging is so different (In a good way). I really like how creative you get with your maps and how you name them. You don't just come up with a name in 5 seconds, a good map name takes time and research, so it's good that you didn't get lazy. I really like how you incorproated many different colors into your map, it makes the map have more style and so it's not so boring to look at. Definetly gonna check this out when I get my xbox back. Good work.

    Yeah, I'm surprised too. I like this map more than Cyanic, but that one got way more comments. This one might not be as aesthetically pleasing I guess. I thought it was. But just because no one comments doesn't mean they don't like it. Let me know what you think once you get a chance to play on it.

    A map built on three complete levels is a monumental acheivement, not reached by many forgers who attempt and fail at creating gameplay that works in such a setting. Bravo to you, sir. I'd like to test this one out for gameplay, but I'm downloading it now for review later. I particularly want to try a map like this in Infection.

    Your maps have fantastic aesthetics and promote amazing gameplay possibilities, and this map is no different.
