Ok, I have quite a complex question about respawns, here. Let's assume we have... 5 territories (for example) in a linear path. 1 2 3 4 5 Let's say the defenders start at 1, attackers then have to press forward and capture the territories in order. Assuming 1 person on the defenders team and instant territory capture time, along with the defenders being trapped in the territories... (Trying to not give too much away about the minigame idea) Would it be possible to force the defenders to first spawn at 1, then respawn at 2, then 3, then 4, then 5 etc... I've been fiddling around with territory spawn orders and respawn areas, but so far have not came to solution that works... Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dthen.
As far as I know, this is not possible. Sorry, but I'm fairly certain. You may want to consult the guru (If Devinish is online, of course ).
I think I can do it, but I can't control where people spawn... I just have to make the players teleport from one territory to another, as if you're in one place and kill the defender, they'll always spawn in a certain spot.
See this is where me and sharp ran into problems about when creating Quadrivium. It is a conquest game but we wanted the attackers to be able to spawn at the territories they have captured but we eventually decided to spawn them at their starting point, the bridge, the first room, and the second bridge only.
Yeh. I'm trying to get the defender to spawn at the furthest forward territory they hold. (Lowest number, I mean.) This is necessary due to there being a one way progression through the map. The good thing is that considering the parts of the map, or "rooms" are seperated by teleporters and their repsective locations don't truly matter, so I can work around the territories instead of working the territories around the map. *Happyface*
The only way you can do something like this is by creating timed events that will eventually block the spawn points. Furious D18 tried his hand at it with Attention Deficit, but it had some problems.
Unless, As I am doing, you work your map around the Territories, building the territories first, then the map around it. This only really works for "Level by level" style of maps, where one progresses room to room in a linear fashion.
You could place spawn areas and change the spawn orders to 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 respective to the territory number. Might work.
