"Me and Rusty Eagle have been hard at work for the past week to bring something very special." Should read: "Rusty Eagle and I..." Sorry. Had to do it. Anyway, this looks really interesting. I'm not sure about the choice to leave a conquest style weapon layout in for objective games... seems like it would be imbalanced. But, I trust you guys for the most part. I'll have to see how it plays.
And i thought it was never possible for me to make a mistake... /sarcasm Ill fix that now. Well Rusty was convinced that this was a map built for Conquest. The shape was pretty well suited. The idea bieng with the weapons was that most of the weapons had high spawn times and not so much ammo. With conquest alot of the fights were up close and personal, so the weapons would be left in open view, to be picked up again. With normal games, alot of the weapons are 'lost' so they're arnt so many present.
Ok, did a forgethrough this morning just to see what you changed from the previous version, and something very strange has happened here. Someone else brought it up earlier, but there are no Territories on this map. Not "none in your map", but there are none anywhere, which I thought was impossible. Some glitch must have happened, did you merge any of the Territory markers into the geometry? It's very strange indeed and something you definitely want to look into correcting. Other than that, I really like the center section better than in the previous version. While I liked the truck before, I thought there was something missing. This seems to taken care of that quite nicely. Nice job, Matty.
I just checked and realised they have.. There is some really wierd issue with the map, every time i add something, it removes something else. I had it fine for the initial release, but then i had to fix it because people could brute shot jump, and that must have removed the terrirories, i will try add them soon.
This happens from time to time... recently did to both myself and Sarge in different maps hence why we haven't released for a while. It seems to happen when you get close to the item limit with the budget glitch. Matty I love this for conquest, it wouldn't be a bad thing to revert to the old version.
Yeah, for a straight up Conquest map, the previous version would still work well. That is a really weird glitch, though. I guess the budget glitch does have some pretty serious side-effects besides lag from time to time.
Yeh similar things also happened to Insane and Creep1ng De4th recently. Its a shame to see such great maps ruined by some malfunction. hope you get it resolved.
Small grammatical error in your post: it should be grammatical, no caps, and the word is "unbalanced" ummm pwned. Now I will continue to review this map as I have been trying to for a while. So usually when I play a map It comes down to what weapons you pick up and your location. However, none of that applies to this map. This is one of the few maps I've experienced where it comes down to player skill and team work. The forge qualities of this map are also incredible, Rusty Eagle did miracles with all the merging with geometry on this map, and unlike many maps with such technique, this makes a distinct difference in the playing and really works out. Overall this is one of my new favorite maps, and hope to see great things of it. Good job Matty and Rusty. Just a heads up, it's not that good for three team SWAT. Either that or me and Ivory are just that damn good lol. Great map really man, the atrium thing must have taken forever. Damned if I have the patience for something like that.
Its a nice map ive played on it. Works quite well. Although I have to say i dont like some of the weapon placements for example the sniper positions right next to the carbines anint good.
Most maps arnt escape proof, even though they claim to be. I will fix these changes soon, im quite busy at the moment.
The funny this is, without that Brute Shot I can still get out lol. Unless you're going to remove the plasmas, I'm still gonna escape.
GoodWhale, what are you trying to imply? That this map is bad because you can get out of it? Most maps are capable of escape, its no great feat.
I agree; a map's quality is not solely based on the ability to escape it. Have fun acting the fool outside the map while the rest of your team gets crushed. Being able to break out of a map has more relevance with the racing and Infection maps than the ones posted here. Competitive maps are meant to be just that, competitive. If there's a spot where it would be possible to accidentally fall out of the map in the heat of battle, then by all means bring it up to the map creator so he can rectify the problem. But if you spend your time trying to grenade jump or Brute Shot your way out of a map during a competitive game, I sure as hell wouldn't want you on my team. "Betrayal!"
