Well the only problem with the map is basically the brute shot, which I wanted in the map so that it would be able to support conquest. The weapon placement is like that for a reason. If we had placed weapons in and around the merged objects then during objective games players would pick up weaons instead of the flag or bomb. Still this map is the bomb and is really fun.
This map looks like it would be fun for more than just conquest! I still haven't played a game of conquest yet, so I definitely want to get a game on this.
I'm pretty sure the game engine gives priority to objectives over weapons, i.e. if some dead person's assault rifle falls on top of a flag and you currently have a brute shot and sword, you'll pick up the flag, not the assault rifle, when you press the right bumper. The only problem is if someone wants to grab the weapon instead of the objective, but in H3 you can pick up a weapon while holding a flag/bomb and then quickly pick the objective back up again. Anyway... from the video, this map looks like several kinds of awesome, especially the aesthetics. DLin' ASAP.
I really liked this map, great job Matty and Rusty, lol I remember how that 'disarming' strategy worked out
Then why bother putting weapons next to the bomb or flag? Anyways the weapons where they are make sense because they are easy to get to and are plainly visible.
Link has been updated with a new version. It is as escape proof as possible. Brute shot has been removed. 2 Maulers, 2 plasma pistols, 2 carbines added. Your welcome.
This a great map, I love it and has some of the best forging around. However, I swear I hvae, because I can very easily get out of this map...
I wasn't saying the weapons on this map are in the wrong place or anything, I was just pointing out the way the game works for the good of Forge-kind. iono, maybe there's a situation where you might want a weapon really close to an objective.
This is a really nice map. It has nice aesthetics, while still providing good gameplay. I personally liked the lack of weapons on the map, made it feel less cluttered and more clean. One question. I downloaded the current version off of your fileshare and decided to run around it in Conquest, just to get a feel for the territories. The only problem I had was there were no territories on the map, I then booted up forge and checked to see how many were on the map. The same thing as before, no territories on the map. This looks like it would be fun for Conquest, but kinda impossible to play with no territories. Is there a reason for not including this, or did you forget about adding them in?
I really liked the layout of this in the earlier version you posted, but this looks a little nicer. I love the design of this map; resembling an aircraft terminal/hangar is an excellent aesthetic touch. I'm anxious to get some Conquest going on this.
