Hey guys. My other thread didn't have much luck so I thought I'd try again with something else. I'm looking to build a tunnel, but can't figure out how to set up the template to interlock a nice looking structure.

    ...___
    ../.....\
    .|.......|

Above is the kind of shape I'm looking for when looking at it from the inside. Now I know this is probably simple but I just can't seem to figure out a method I could use time and time again to make it a straight line for a long distance.

If anyone knows of a method that would work with this if it was 3 single boxes wide x 2 single boxes high, please post a screenshot or a text tutorial if possible. An example of this shape would be The Waterworks map recently featured here.

Also, if anyone has any other useful templates for shapes, please share. Maybe a sticky dealing with templates could be useful for new forgers like myself?

3 boxes wide by two high should be easy.

Build a pyramind of sorts with the boxes, three on the bottom and two on the top places so the centre of the two top ones is on a seam between two of the bottom ones. Walls against the sides of the bottom ones, then slanted walls going from the top of the previous walls over to meet with the top boxes. Then just put a couple walls in to connect thos slanted walls together in the middle. Would take six walls per section though.

    Do you mean like this?

    ..___..
    ./.[].\.
    /[][][]\

If so, I tried like this but the walls didn't reach far enough to make that kind of angle (they were sitting around 20 degrees). I'm still intrigued with the tunnel on The Waterworks. It's exactly what I need (although lower than I intend to build) and looks flawless. I sent the dude a message about it earlier, but I thought I'd ask you guys too.

This is the only thing I really struggle with. Creating angled structures that are flawless and perfectly symmetrical. I wish they included angled boxes and such. I know its a complicated thing to do to begin with, but there has to be a really easy way. Apologies for the crude text drawings by the way...

Sorry for the double post, but this is the effect I'm looking for.

Would it be completely out of the question to download such a map, remove everything else and C+P the shape already in place? I don't know if that's crossing any lines with copying etc...

I guess asking the original designer would be the most intelligent thing to do.

Ok, place both vertical double boxes with a bouble box in between.

    []=[]

then place the top DB centered between them. The other boxes are 45*, use wall corners to get that angle

or get the horizontal double box--
and make it then get the columns interloxed
    [][][][]
    [].....[]
then you get the single boxes at 45* angle(roughly) using some stairs maye one normal
    and another ontop it
    [][][][]
    []/. .\[]

or besides the stair thing you get a dumpster
and stick a wall on top of that for the height
and the map you automatically do a 45* angle
for you if you put it on the corner on the wall

    Nah like this

    ...___..
    ../[][]\.
    .|[][][]|

If you interlock the boxes by a fence wall width that should give you enough room to interlock the walls to prevent gaps. Your ceiling will be slightly lower than 2 boxes high though. More likely to be 1.75 boxes high unless you want to use more walls to extend the angled sides up more.

No worries mate. Sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is just what's needed to solve a problem.

Can't wait to see the map.
