Okay so I made a map that is predominantly for team slayer yet I want it to also support FFA. If I make the spawn points as attacker and defender as I would in team slayer for bases sake would it just be neutral on FFA?

You would set up one for attacker, one for defender, one for 3rd team, one for 4th team, and so on. They would always be neutral.

You man only need the 2 starting points for Teams. That is how Bungie set it up. It worked this way for my map.

I'm thinking about just plugging in a few extra controllers and seeing what happens. I'm also talking about respawn points. Not just start points.

Oh I see. I would expect the those respawn points would belong to one player. I advise only using Neutral Points and Neutral/Team respawn areas.

This would null and void the effects of having two bases though. In Valhalla notice how you always spawn either in your base or mid? that's because the spawns aren't neutral in the bases. in FFA though you can, the spawns become neutral to my knowledge.

Yea, it works like that on Valhalla, but on another map like Narrows, or an asym like Guardian, players are free to respawn wherever there are no enemies. I think that system works better for slayer than forcing players to spawn on the same side they spawned on the whole game.

As for starting points, you really only need one for attackers, and one for defenders. Starting points have a small area around them where they will influence regular respawn points to be starting points for that team as well. All of the other teams will spawn anywhere they can using normal respawning rules, it will space them out from each other but spawn them on respawn points. That's the way Bungie handles things on almost all of their maps.
