***** please, I am one of the few people here that can easily get a hold of your boss. I'll get you fired.
Suggestions for future map names: Survive the feedback Survive the suicide attempt Survive the brain memes Survive the English language Survive ForgeHub Great quotes: "I dont half assed these. This is my best ****." "Im just not an asthetic forger" "dude, im legitimately done with this site. I knwo where im not welcome." Thanks for the laughs and the cringe, kid. On the bright side, you can still get those spicy Brusky features.
I know I said i was leaving but before I go, I would like to talk about how I'm not just "reskinning maps". My main focus is scripting, everything is secondry to me. For that fact, my maps will slowly look better as I and forge improve. Whats important to me is whats under the hood. It might feel like im just copying and pasting but im always trying to improve and innovate but I also try to stay away from re-inventing the wheel too much. I hope by the time Im done with halo 6, people will see that I am trying to make better content and the maps I make will be night and day compared to survive the underground. Im gonna talk about some of the scripting so people can see the real thought I put into this map. Its stuff your not really gonna notice if you play the map once or twice. I also hope people learn something from what I say. I would love to see more dynamic maps in halo with clever scripting. Also like I previously said, these maps aint perfect at all but theyre a necersary trial and error to eventually get to the ultimate linear infection when forge finaly delivers the tools to do so. Right now everything is a bit hacky but im sure in time forge will become a mini game editor where people can create their craziest ideas in a professional way. Ok back to my scripting. My map is designed in a way were it plays fun whether the zombies are doing good or bad. My map actually helps out zombies who are doing poorly and need a hand. In survive the underground, I made the elevator unable to fit everyone in which is one way of doing it. This time I tried to be a bit more clever with the scripting. Now the elevator waits 15 seconds OR waits for 3 people to be infected. This helps it so the next area is balanced but its not set in stone, everyone can live if they wait 15 seconds. If this happens and the 1 zombie is having a hard time the next stage will try to help him out. Trying to get 15 people in my special bus is possible but not really as the bus takes off before everyone can get inside creating some funny moments and easy killings for zombies. The next stage is the train. It might seem simple but this has some cool scripting too. Once you enter the train, as it takes off into the tunnel the journey will vary depending on the number of survivors. If there are 3 survivors, it will last 10 seconds. If there are more than 3 survivors the journey will last to a maximum of 20 seconds. If the survivors go from for example 6 to 3 while on the train the journey will last anywhere between 10 and 20 seconds. This is all to help out the infected, they dont wanna see the survivors get to the end so I try to dynamically help them and make the map a fun challenge to complete. Theres possibly more stuff I could talk but nothing is coming to mind right now. I just hope people gain a new appreciation of the thought I put into these maps whether they are good or bad and know that Im slowly trying to create great content.
lol nope Dude, you gotta listen to what people are saying even if it hurts. How else do you expect to get better. Your long post just seems like another excuse. "I'm not bad at this. I'm just focusing on scripting." I don't think you even mentioned it at all in your previous posts until now.
I always try to improve scripting but I guess I just take it for granted that I expect people to notice this stuff but people only seem to care about the exterior of maps. Maybe from now on, I should explain a things alot better of the effort I put into maps so people see the popularity of my maps a bit more warranted but I dont see myself posting any more maps on this site. I can take criticism just not from certain people who I feel are assholes trying to crap on people.
Alright, its obvious you're just not understanding the scope of what's going on, so let me clarify it for you: You're not the only person to receive negative criticism on your creation and you're sure as hell not going to be the last. Everybody here who creates content has received negative criticism of some form. In fact, many of us want to hear negative criticism so we can improve our skills as creators. Sure, it may not seem like it to you but ExtraSpicyMemes was trying to help you, as a forger, with his review. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have put all of that time into writing his review.
Oh i know he cares. he cares to let me know how bad my maps are and mostly for his own entertainment, but he needs to realise I know exactly the issues with my maps. Theyre just not my priority right now. Over time I will improve, forge will improve and the maps I create will improve. I honestly didnt need his input but its a good reminder of how much better I have to become.
Indeed. Its obvious what I'm trying to say getting nowhere with him. I just hope this isn't how he acts in the real world.
The whole point is if you made the post spicy did I would have reacted in whole different way. I would have given you the benefit of the doubt and took note of your criticisms. But because I know the type of guy spicy is, I notice he had alot of nitpicks just to take the opportunity to crap on my map. Im fine with about 70% of what he said but the rest just felt like an opportunity to "roast me". If it was someone like you who posted it, I would have taken it on the chin as I know nothing about you and I would just assume your trying to help but I dont get that from spicey at all. He had valid criticisms but he peppered crap throughout that were unnecessary and false
You sound like you want to give me even more opportunities to roast you. It's nice to know that you would take it on the chin from a total stranger.
