Everything spicy said was 100% valid criticism, harsh but true and if you can't take the time to improve, then youll never improve, there is no way you can be satisfied with making maps that only do what worked before rather than expanding and pushing more boundaries with each sequel. Where's the challenge?
I wouldn't trust the customs browser, the only emotions they have is hungry and bored. They will play castle wars and assassinations all day, is that really who you want criticizing your maps?
Your visual crimes have driven the forge police to check out this map for suspicious activity, what we found was more than expected.
Not everyone who is a creator looks to challenge themselves. I know this seems wrong considering the typically accepted ideology of this site but it is not wrong if your goals are not set to maximize your potential but to explore every nook and cranny of a particular design style. There is knowledge to gain even in places where you don't think you can get anything more out of it. I actually think a good chunk of the people here now run before they can even walk as designers. This is a rant I don't really want to get into to much because there are certain people on this site that really can't handle the fact I have this opinion of them and why I avoid the philosophy conversation because there is always a counter example to every value any designer holds in high esteem.
It took me a whole year to even think of scaling, but the reason I wanted to speak up is because I did not see a steady improvement map to map.
Ok look at Poltergeist 3 (my first map) and then look at a map like Landlord which was a turning point for me in forge because scaling really stuck with me, it has some flaws but compared to my first map its not even close. Now you are just being bitter, I don't think you want me to roast you more because I know you can't take it.
and that is fine. I think that if anything this guy should be thankful for someone coming on to his map and giving him negative feedback. Like seriously am I the only one who likes it?
dude, im legitimately done with this site. I knwo where im not welcome. Its just good timing because i was done forging with halo 5 till halo 6
You're absolutely correct, it's not wrong but I think there should come a point where you set out to really change things up and step out of your comfort zone which is what I was trying to get at, probably coulda said that in my post
