Hello! I'm Zop and I have a Forge map for you today. It's an infection variant of an earlier map I've created, and I believe it turned out well. However, since it's my first post in Casual in quite some time, I'm anticipating a lack of replies.

It is set in 2042, shortly after an alien virus ravaged the planet, it's source is Antarctica but the exact area is unknown. Shortly after it escaped, it because evident something was very wrong. People began to lose vision and skin, losing motor skills and coordination. What they failed to do was die. It quickly overran huge areas of the world. Within two months, the virus had infected 80% of the world's population. Asia, America, Africa and parts of Europe were overran. American military forces were scatted. A surviving force of 160 Army Rangers were cut off from communication when Portland, Oregon was overrun. They quickly constructed a rough base to holdout for reinforcements. Or to make a last stand in....

Sorry about the wall of text. If read it, cool. If you didn't, that's fine as I had fun writing it.

Anyways, on to the map. It's meant for a specific infection gametype in which humans are slow and zombies are fast, and going outside the base, even in numbers, means death. It's supposed to be a last-stand type of game, and the humans are backed up in a corner outnumbered. Also, zombies, you can jump over the barricades made by the humans. You just need to take a second and not get shot.

    Pictures:

Blue team (Zombies) spawn just behind this wreckage.

View from the top of the pile of rubble. Zombies, you shall see this as you make your attack. Note the barricades made with streetlights and roadblocks. Keep zombies out.

View from what used to be the square in front of a building in the human base. Crates litter the area to keep the humans supplied. Also, to keep the lines of sight short and keep the fighting intense.

Unknown to the humans, there is a back entrance to the defacto base. They believe it to just be filled with wreckage, but no. Watch your back humans.

That is all, dear thread viewer. Thoughts? Opinions?

It seems a little small. Detailed, but small. Maybe the reason I feel this way is because I don't quite have an overview of the map. Could you include an overhead screenshot? I do feel that it has an ODST feel to it. I don't really know why.

On the original map (Non Zombies Version) I got alot of replies stating it looked like New Mombassa during the day. And about the screenshot, I'll upload one soon, though I thought the video would give you a decent idea.

    Got it.

i loved your original map! this one is even better! you really captured the "quickly made last line of defence" feel to the map. You have my download.

Hey Zop! I believe you excelled in creating a cramped and cluttered last stand base for the humans. The city also looks detailed and great (as usual). I am curious, how is the framerate when playing split-screen?

Also, I appreciated the mini-story you typed up (yes, I read it).

Thank you good sir! That was my intent. And the framerate is acceptable in split screen. It could be better, but it is playable. The clutter in the human base is only visible so much at a time, and that way my intent to keep lag down. With one person there is no screen lag whatsoever.

Also, welcome to FH! Enjoy your stay.
