So we played a few games of this. Strongholds and Slayer. At this point I think Slayer is a lot more interesting but Strongholds has potential. For Strongholds, the elevator one felt like the throwaway point. It was easy to cap because of how hidden it was, but you couldn't really contest the others from that position. I think capturing that one should offer the player better flanks, so perhaps we can experiment with a Camo or OS on the map on somewhere over there. I'm not sold on Speedboost yet. The hammer was already ridicuously good indoors so I think giving the player a speedboost was a little OP. We'll keep testing it like that and see. I also mentioned that the top Carbine location by Red was a bit too campable so I would just move that to the bottom of the ramp to get players to drop down. Otherwise they were great on the map. The Fuel Rod didn't seem to break anything either, but that's likely because nobody found it. Definitely put that on a weapon pad ASAP. I think that's all I have for now. My main concern at this point for Strongholds is the interaction between the three points. It's fine if two are favored over the last one, but the last one needs something to help push into and reclaim the others. Needler is Pick a different name.
For those who want to play on the map the current name is : Sanctum (yes it is changing as goat told me to) Next updates (more for me to keep track) 1: Name volumes 2: Kill boundary on bottom of map 3: Make elevator stronghold platform have a roof to help make more defendable 4: Move teleport under "nade trap" with the door between red/blue transition 5: Needler over by red spawn side for incentive to move over there more 6: test forcing spawn trapping and seeing where to move and fix spawns 7: Test varying hammer ammo 8: Fuel rod on a weapon pad 9: Spit, polish, and elbow grease 10: Make red nest less campable 11: Noise over time (thanks Darkprince for that idea) 12: Sound effect/light for platform movement preluding 13: Fusion coils up in top overlook 14: Find right balance (the eternal dilemma speed boost vs OV vs Damage boost) :/ *don't want the hammer bro to grab an overshield and become a ****ing tank, but speed boost makes you like white lighting and damage boost is for real sweatys @SammichEaterPro Actually that was one of the more interesting areas I saw encounters happening during strongholds. I saw a lot of combat over there and I would say the only area that is too open and long is the transition route from red spawn toward blue. need to figure out how to fix that. As for the actual platform where the stronghold is it felt fine to me. If anyone has any other comments from actual testing PLEASE DONT HESISTATE to **** on this map I want to hear every issue you have with it! It only will get better with actual constructive critisim!
