You know when your on Valhalla or Sand trap or any of the maps with a warthog in matchmaking when your driving and your gunner is and idiot. you know, when he is shooting the guy next to you with an smg rather than shooting the banshee that is about to kill you. in other words... they don't know how to prioritize targets. does this annoy you? (or are you one of the people with mixed up priorities)
It annoys me... Gahh. Am I allowed to... I'll PM you. Usually though, it doesn't happen to me as I have a set few people who I allow to mount my rear.
What about the drivers. You know, the ones that leave the park spot and instantly decide to drive into that rock that apparently just appeared in front of them. The ones who sit there expecting you to take down that banshee while you sit helpless against it's bombs and guns. To be honest given that I would rather shoot the guy next to me holding the SMG than the banshee that will kill me before I really have a chance to do anything about it because my driver is a **** wit who thinks he's god's gift to the wheel.
Hey, banshees FLY! Above you! My "prioritizing" for targets is if its shooting at me, shoot back. Otherwise ignore it until the shooty person is dead. Simple? Probably. Will it get me and the driver killed? Most likely. And that's why I drive instead of shoot.
i do indeed hate this, especially when you have a gunner who won't let off the trigger. but a simple solution is just to take a partner.
It's worse when your driver is an idiot. i got driven once by a guy who drove me off the tall spine structure of Sandtrap. Obviously we landed in front of the laser guy...
It's not his fault he's colorblind and mistook the enemy's red complexion to be green instead, while also not noticing that that "Magnum" he had was actually a half charged laser. Other than all these innocent flaws, the guys a great driver.
yes it is very very annoying when your driver is a dumb **** too but this topic is saying that YOU are the driver and the gunner is a moron. (of course can you imagine sitting in the passanger seat and the gunner AND the driver are morons!)
SMG Guy v Banshee: Which one to kill? SMG: Easy kill. The opposition is down 1 man but the banshee is still in the air and blows you up. Your team is down 2 men, their team is down 1. End result: Your team has 1 less player. Banshee: Your gunner is filling the banshee with lead, unfortunatly the banshee is filling you with plasma and then a huge green bolt. You die, the gunner dies, the banshee survives and so does that SMG guy. Your team is down 2 players. The opposition is down none. End result: Your team down 2 players. So clearly going for the easy kill would be better than going for the harder kill. Especially when you respawn you'll probably be closer to one of the bases to grab a missile pod and take down the banshee. So it would appear that you are the one with mixed up priorities.
You're forgetting that there are two kinds of warthogs. If you were in a gauss warthog, it would be better to target the banshee, as it would destroy it immediately, letting you target the SMG guy.
It's weird I'm usually the one driving, I don't use the gun much but out of all my gunners they usually say I'm either really good or the best they rode with. I just get all excited splattering people with my warthog and driving fast and scare the **** out of people. If I have a gunner who still can't get a kill, I just let him/her die, and whenever he/she tries to go back in I drive forward.
The scenario described in the first post can go either way, depending on the situation. In some cases, it will be best to take the easy kill, and in others it will be best to try taking down the banshee. I'm usually back and forth when it comes to my role in the warthog. I love driving it, and my enjoyment of racing games helps me along the way. On the other hand, I do enjoy getting all of those kills that an annoying warthog gunner usually ends up with. But no matter which role I take, it's safe to say I also hate it when the other person does a terrible job. Most of the time, I get annoyed at my drivers because gunning is definitely easier. Point and shoot.
