Well that actually opened my eyes. Too long I've been thinking good forgers were ones who could merge with one try, and interlock everything till its smooth as a rock. Even though I knew it in me, I never really though about an experienced forger that has no use of interlocking. I consider my self a "known" forger, I know most of the tricks, and can execute them some what well. But its shielded me from what truly makes a map. Thank you, lol.
No problem. I was in that same spot when I was forging Facade. I didn't worry too much about the map's flow. Don't get me wrong. Gameplay for that map turned out pretty decent. But the main thing about the map that I disliked was that it wasn't as good as it could be. --Which is why I'm actually remaking most of it.
Yeah, I wish there was a colour changer tool for boxees and stuff. I wish the boxes that you placed were just grey cuboids/cubes that had no textures or orund corners so that you could add textures and colours to them. Hopefully Sandbox will be more like that. Because you gotta admit; Forge is pretty rubbish.
Thank-you i agree with you 100% this should be locked ....You should keep you opinions to yourself instead of crying them out to the world we don't need that!
Your supposed to chose the map to work on that can cater for your needs. You don't choose Foundry before thinking of the alternatives, and you don't choose Blackout because it's not Foundry. Atleast the objects on Foundry match it's theme, because they don't for any other good forging map.
Wow, so I don't post in this for a week and it already reached 3 pages When I said that I chose Blackout, I meant that there are more maps then just the most boring looking map ever, Foundry. When you see the same colors then it all just starts looking the same. and tell me which one you guys like better, #1 or #2 #1 #2 #1, right? It is about the colors, Foundry is like #2, boring, colorless. And #1 is like all the other maps, so there is more than just Foundry
I personally like #2 better because the black and white filter that you added seems to give the picture more depth and it creates more focus on the clouds .
That's retarded. They're the same picture, just digitally altered. What you showed is more like taking the same map and adding a color filter on it. Pointless.
well have you ever seen an Ansel Adams photo. black and white, but beautiful. Foundry is the best we have to work with, so we make it work. Color isn't everything. unless you are making an Aesthetic map, and then with blackout you cant get the colors to match
Don't complain about Foundry not being to your taste in style. Complaining about the colors and the theme is completely irrelevant to the map's gameplay and layout. As Vorpal Saint said, Gameplay > Layout, but both are greater than the color of the boxes you use. It's people like you who began complaining about forge in the first place, by saying it was too limited or a waste of time. So, Bungie gives you a map designed almost entirely for forge, and that wasn't enough? Now you want pretty colors too?! Honestly, most great maps here at Forge Hub don't need those fancy colors to be great, because people can see past the very dull colors of foundry, and use some of the great forging techniques we've developed to make them look better! The point I'm trying to make is, that you are taking Forge for granted, what if Bungie decided to remove it, because of the complaints they get about it? Forge Hub would have no purpose, and your endeavors to make it more colorful would have been wasted.
