Well pardon me for not knowing the Map Preview explicitly means "haven't played on it ever". You know, despite the fact that the map has been playtested multiple times before it ever saw the light of day here on Forge Hub. Just send a PM to Requiem and he'll tell you how many times he had people test his map. I should know. I was there for the later playtests. I've played about five games on the final version of Suspension. So do yourselves a favor and don't assume. I'm not gonna nominate a map I've never played on. I'll nominate a map if I've played on it, and if I think it's fun enough to merit being featured. Regardless of what the label on the thread happens to be.
Whether or not you've played on a map is irrelevant in this discussion (though it is relevant in nominating lol). The main point is: we can't feature a map that isn't posted on our site. If this map is now posted, or was posted and you just nominated the preview for ease sake, please switch to the actual map thread so we can find and test this map. Otherwise, please refrain from nominating a map until it's release regardless of whether or not you've played it.
Requiem hasn't posted an actual map thread, but he has made it available for download on the map preview thread. I take it that that doesn't quite count as 'released'? (Forgive me, I'm still new here.) I mean, the rules up front only said to link to the thread post, and the Map Preview thread is the only one available.
Yeah to be clear, I don't think anybody here nominated a map they hadn't played on, at least with respect to Suspension or my own (currently just available in preview mode) Arctic Outpost. Suspension has been play tested a lot and most of the guys in here talking about it are on Requiem's friends and testers list. Ditto for the nomination of Arctic Outpost by Mr. Fiasco - he's one of the few people that has already played it. Anyway it's obviously necessary to stick to released maps, so I hope he'll be good enough to re-nominate me when Arctic Outpost is actually out, and I can safely say I feel the same about Suspension, which I have played and enjoyed on a number of occasions.
Here is the link to Suspension V15 Just so we are clear. I am not nominating my own map simply giving the link for the 3 nominations on this thread.
Okay, let's try this again. I nominate Suspension v15 . I apologize for all of the confusion before hand, I know I didn't start it but I was involved. So go ahead and call me a nOOb or an idiot (maybe both).
I don't believe that I should have to do this, but I am renominating Suspension by Requiem. It should go without saying that one wouldn't nominate a map to be featured without actually playing on it first. As such I don't see what the deal was with the map simply not being in the map forums (apparently if it's in Forge Discussion, it's impossible that anyone has played it).
Signet all the way I want to nominate SIGNET Because of its awesome game play, not over the top but not boring aesthetics, and also because it has absolutely no lag, the map is a wonderfully planned out symmetrical map, and i think its ready to be thrown into bungie's matchmaking playlist, You really do have to download it to get the real feel for the greatness of this map, anyways thats my vote
I want to nominate Signet because its awesome and looks cool, i think that is the 2nd nomination i belive crapoes also nominated it
Well, there is a surplus of garbage maps here that get way more attention than their game play deserves... Hell, I doubt most people even play on some of the maps they support. Its a sad day when more emphasis is placed on aesthetic value over game play, and thats exactly what happens here at forge hub. :/
Shoudlnt that be more of an incentive to make your maps more aesthetically pleasing? Go make a map with incredible gameplay, and I can guarantee there will be budget left over. This budget should be used to make the map look better. However, I do agree that there are way too many maps that are nominated for feature on looks alone. Also, this isnt helped by posts made by people who dont bother downloading the map.
I nominate Champion by Antares777x, simply because it is the most creative reimagining of Lockout/Guardian I have ever seen. The gameplay is astounding and flows beautifully and the use of default buildings tied into the environment make for awesome aesthetic appeal.
I think i'll nominate Essence by AceOfSpades: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/115820-essence.html I also nominate Amalgam by SecretSchnitzel: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/115570-amalgam.html
Haven't we been over this guys... you can't re-nominate a map once its been nominated. The staff will take a look at the map nom'd, however, I don't think they are going to excessively look at it for each time its been nominated.
