    STICKY ARENA v.3

    History:
Sticky Arena v.3 is the next remake in line for my Sticky Arena Map Variant. In Sticky Arena v.1, Players started out in a very basic fence octagon with 8 plasma grenade spawn points and a pistol in hand. However, there was a downfall to that version. It was very easy to grenade jump out of the map, and due to the "decoration" I had placed outside of the map ( e.g turrets, choppers, warthogs, etc.) players were able to get a hold of these objects and use them in the game play itself. Then came Sticky Arena v.2. This variant was much more what I was looking for in this map. I had taken away the "decoration" and added an interlocked lip around the rim of the arena, making it harder for the players to escape. However, once again, players eventually just figured out to use grenade jump just before the lip to get onto the lip. This caused even more problems. Now I had players running around the edge of the arena pistoling people and not playing very fairly. That's when I decided to make Sticky Arena v.3. This map provides a much more fair basis for game play and even has the ability to host two new game types which I'll cover later.

What makes this version so much more fair?

Well the answer to that question is simple. I simply added a roof to the arena.

However, the roof itself couldn't just be any roof. I first attempted to put a flat roof over the arena, but that did not work. While testing, the game play showed that the grenades boosted players up extra height while jumping if they were hit. As little detail that is, it was necessary to preserve. The flat roof stopped players from getting this extra boost and so hindered game play. So I decided to create a dome shaped roof. This style gives players the room they need to ensure a completely fair and and enjoyable setting.

    MAP VARIANT: Sticky Arena v.3

    GAME TYPES:

    Sticky Slayer: DOWNLOAD HERE!

Sticky Slayer is a slayer variant that supports as little as 2 players and as much as 16 players. The object of this game is to kill your opponents not by shooting, beating down, or assassinating your opponents, but rather to stick them with grenades. To encourage using sticky grenades over other methods of killing, sticks count for 2 points where other means only count as 1 point.

    Sticky Oddball: DOWNLOAD HERE!

Sticky Oddball is 1 of 2 new game variants that Sticky Arena supports. Like before, this game supports 2-16 players for a fun and thrilling game experience. The thing about this variant that separates most oddball variants is that there are two balls. Because there are two of them, players have more of an opportunity to pick up a few points for themselves, at at the same time, it provides a little more security for the carriers of the balls. After all, I don't think someone wants 15 other people throwing stickies at them while having no defenses other then running like a maniac.

Sticky King of The Hill: DOWNLOAD HERE!

Sticky Arena's 2nd new game variant is Sticky KoTH! This by far must be one of the most chaotic king of the hill games you will ever play if you choose to download this map and variant. In the center of the arena looms a very narrow cylinder hill that stretches through the roof of the arena. The reason for this is that being the prime target for sticky grenades while in the hill, your going to need so kind of mobility while still remaining in the hill to rack up those points. And that method is jumping. While in the hill, you are able to jump higher to dodge those incoming stickies. 2-16 players.

    In-Game Screen Shots:

*NOTE: These screen shots were taken while in game play with 5 players. The more players that you have, the more chaos and less skillful game play there will be. So if your looking for a match up pitted against skill, play with fewer people. If you're looking for a hectic match up just for the heck of it, get as many players as you can to join. Happy Gaming! :D

THis idea has been done, a lot. But this looks superior to most of them.
I think that you should've made stickies worth more points.

O yes, i know this has been done a lot. Believe me... I don't really like the fact that I even wasted time on making ANOTHER sticky arena map. However, like you said, I did try to make it "superior" to most others. I even tried to change up the normal style of "dodge the sticky" type of game play by adding in the KoTH and Oddball Variants. And about making the stickies more points, the game only goes up to 50 points so any higher point value given for sticks would just make the game too long for what I wanted and increase the score limit would lengthen the game play which I fear will just bore people if they are forced to play that long. Thanks though for your input. I appreciate it. ^^

Please keep the input coming so I know what to work on in the future.

This looks like some good fun. I'm definitely going to download.

The interlocking and making of the map looks good too.

Meh...good is what you would describe the interlocking as i guess. I'm not the best at that and I'm relatively new to it so I'm not all that talented in that department. you won't find everything perfectly even like some of the other members of this community can do. Anyways, thanks a bunch for the crit and dl. Please come back and rate or let me know what you thought about it.

EDIT: Just saw your post there lol. Yea I guess I do see your point. It would give even more incentive to using stickies rather than anything else, assuming u still would keep normal kills as a one point gain right? Let me test that out with a few of my buddies tomorrow and I'll report back to u on how that came along. And as far as the testing for this map went, it was pretty extensive on the slayer variant. Not so much on the other two variants however. There maybe a little bit of tweaking that needs to go into those game variants as well.
