STICKBALL by bos45redsox Hello Forgehub! My newest and most prized possession is now available to all of you on here! After a few long nights of forging on my own, and a few tests done on here, I am proud to present you guys Stickball, a highly entertaining, fast paced, and addictive new minigame! Stickball on Stickball Court: The court where Covenant hierarchs watch as enslaved humans must play to their deaths. 4-8 players Preferred teams 3v3, but 4v4 is MAX BE SURE TO PLAY WITH EVEN TEAMS, AS UNEVEN WILL BE A BIT ONE SIDED. ALSO, NO MORE THAN 8 PLAYERS SHOULD PLAY. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY IT GETS TOO CROWDED AND YOU DIE RIGHT WHEN YOU SPAWN. Stickball History: Started a few years as an illegal 'sport' where rogue Covenant troops would capture and torture humans, has now become the mainstay in Covenant society. The most simple form of entertainment, Stickball is a horror to be a part of. Not many people can live to tell their stories, but the truth is, once you go in, you do not go out. Designed to torture, humiliate, and demoralize humans, this sadistic game doesn't fail to peak in ratings on a weekly basis. A game where people, comrades, brothers alike must fight for their lives, Stickball is basically a game of suicide. The Covenant laugh with their alien tongues, drooling about over the sight of humans forced to murder each other. Most likely candidates are those who have been captured by Covenant soldiers, or traitors of the Covenant forces. If selected to play, Covenant leaders are basically signing off on a player's death warrant. Sitting from above, Covenant heirarchs watch as the enslaved must play to their deaths, enjoying every minute of this sick and twisted game. Like already mentioned, once you go in, you do not go out. Backstory and Design: Similar to the game of Grifball, I decided to forge a minigame that could be classified as a "sport". I started one night after playing the original featured Stickball by TrueDarkFusion. I decided to forge up a map on my own, and to not use the Grifball court as a layout. I figured with only a max of 32 grenades, a smaller map would be needed to keep the player's belts loaded with spike and plasmas. I decided AGAINST giving players regenerating grenades as I did not want frag grenades to be on the map. Players DO spawn with their sides' grenades (Red spawns with spike grenades with a few plasmas on their side. Blue spawns with plasma grenades with a few spikes on their side) Stickball is a fast paced game, simple to understand, and surprisingly very addictive! There are 2 planting points on each side, hidden by the active camo and overshield (which cannot be grabbed BTW). Like Grifball, the bomb starts in the middle of the court. Players spawn and scramble to the bomb, dodging incoming plasma and spike grenades. The plasma and spike grenades have the run time max of 32. This game normally features two types of play. Strong offensive games, or strong defensive games. Personally I enjoy the defensive games, making each score that much more enjoyable! Anyways, onto the settings of the game type and pictures all of you are probably clammoring for! =P Gametype Settings: (Required for the map) -Neutral Bomb -4 Rounds -3 Minute Rounds, Sudden Death is 30 seconds -3 Second respawn, 3 second betrayal, 5 second suicide -Respawn instantly on kills -3 Second fuse time so no suicide run like Grifball The Ball Carrier: -90% Speed -75% Gravity -50% Damage Resistant -300% Damage -Forced Color Gold The Custom Powerup: The Custom Powerup is not the most sought after piece of equipment once spawned, but it can due your team some help when picked up. When you see it, grab it to confuse your opponents by turning the bomb carrier color, and to jump higher with a slight boost in speed. -110% Speed -75% Gravity -Forced Color Gold -Spawns every minute -Does not spawn to start the game Tactics: Tactics do not play a major role in the game of Stickball, BUT they can play a role in your teams success. -It is encouraged to have one player play ONLY defense, racking up the kills -The ball carrier can die after one melee hit. Likewise, he can kill you in one hit. Melee at your own risk -When selecting your team color, keep in mind you spawn on your color's side rounds 1 and 3. - To confuse the opposing team, grab a custom power up when your team has the ball to become gold. It can confuse the entire team, and gives you the much needed extra second to score -Charge your plasma pistol to lower a player's shields. It helps A LOT -Throw your grenades at the bomb the prevent a player from grabbing it (if they're dumb, they will pick it up, only to die with a 3 second delay to spawn. Yes friendly fire is on. During the tests we tried it with no friendly fire and it was too easy to score. We decided to keep it on so watch where you throw your bombs haha
Wow, this is a great idea. When I read the name I though it was just going to be a sticky map but now it is griftball. This is a very original map and I bet a ton of new tactics could be used like throwing a bunch of grenades and having the bomb dude boost off of those grenades. I am definitely going to download this and play a game. ONe question, why did you make it only 4 rounds instead of like 5 or 7 or 6. I don't know why I counted out of order.Lol. Right now it gets a 4.5/5 but that will change depending on how game play is. Chow!
Hey thanks for the positive feedback! It's 4 rounds because I didn't want blue team to have the slight advantage of starting plasmas. Personally it doesn't bother me but during testing a lot of people said to make it 4 to be more balanced. Hope to here back from ya after you play!
Great job on the description, first one I didn't get bored reading. The map on the other hand could use some work, maybe make a stadium sourrounding it like you mentioned in the description

this map looks totally awesome, and reminds me of my crazy pit map, but yours is better forged, which makes me want to supe mine up 4.5-5/5 awesome!
This was pretty fun each time I played it. Im glad you decided to use some of my ideas, and, in my opinion, they worked very well. The overall "fun" factor of the map is quite high, and it was so amazing when my team got that blowout with a score of 12-0. Although I helped you with the gametype, I think that you could make the perimeter higher and maybe make some aesthetic things, like the running man on the grifball court. But even without those things, the map was very fun. This is a great way to just pass the time with some fun grenade throwing combined with grifball. 4.9/5- Just because the map was a little simple, and could have been higher, but trust me this map is great.
Haha thanks man! Like you said I think it is way better with the ideas you gave me. And yeah talk about a new low. I can't believe my team lost 12-0...that was pitiful lol and not to mention I never thought anyone would score less than at least 2 or 3...but 0? this looks awesome. i like the way you used the bomb plants with the camo. it looks really cool. other then that it seems exactly like grif ball and im not a fan of that. but maybe this map will change my point of view, cuz it looks pretty promissing.
Yeah I've been told that since it resembles Grifball it might not be the most popular but trust me, get a party of 6 together and this turns out to be a sick game. Let me know what you think after you play it. Oh and thanks about the bomb plants hidden by the camo and overshield. It actually wasn't my idea, I'll give Bartoge the credit on that. Think of it as a map pack I guess you could say. And trust me they won't just be a big rectangle. I've got some ideas up my sleeve that I think will turn out nicely as long as I can forge them decent. But yeah thanks for the good feedback, and surprisingly 1v1 does work out okay.

In grift ball there was gravity hammer boost, can i through a sticky at the ball carriers feet to boost him? Good idea with the power up btw, i can imagine running with the guy that has the bomb, weaving back and forth with our backs to the enemy, lol. d
