ForgeHub is the host of many tournaments and competitions. All are great fun but something that could more fun and more uniting in the FH community would be a 2v2 tournament where you CANNOT choose teams. The tournament will have steps to eliminate players before joining them with staff. 1) Qualifying Rounds-- 3 rounds of Slayer (2) and MLG Slayer (1). 16 players. Winners of each round advances to elimination round. 2) Elimination Round-- Winners of the Qualifying Rounds are randomly paired up in to games of 2v2v2. Best 2 of 4. 2 of each 2v2v2 Slayer and MLG. Winning pair and the next best player (kills + .25*assists) advances. Repeat until the number of players remaining is less than or equal to the number of staff members playing. 3) Brackets-- Players are randomly paired with a FH staff member. The teams battle 2v2 in 1 round of of 2v2 Slayer. Winner advances and losers are out. It goes until there are 2-3 teams left. 4) Championship Round-- 2 teams: best 2 of 3; slayer, mlg, slayer. 3 teams: best 2 of 4; slayer, mlg, slayer, slayer, Let me know what you think of this. I can take criticism, but let's be smart about it.
i really like idea of being paired with staff, but I feel like it cant be both MLg and slayer its gotta be one or the other. Or it flip flops, slayer first round then mlg 2nd round.
Well seeing as there is only 23 staff members as of right now so only the best would really get to play but I like the idea of not choosing who you'd get paired up with though. I'd sign up if they did that.
Problems: 1) not many staffers to have an average tourney 2) not all staffers are available at all times (we have some in america, europe and australia) 3) not all staffers play halo (myself included)
This, mostly the first one. Also, a certain other forging website just used this idea. They actually usually incorporate something close to it in any current tournament, but they used the exact idea you mentioned not to long ago.
