Since many of us will be playing Halo 4 multiplayer, a larger part of the Halo Reach customs scene will be focused on gaming with physical friends. As such, I'd like to create a list or map pack of some sort of 1v1/2v2 (respectively 2pl and 4pl) compatible maps for LAN play. If any of you guys have made or know of maps that are splitscreen compatible or can be made split-screen friendly easily, please say so. Thanks Please include: -Link to yours or others' map(s) -Gametype for the map (slayer variants/Smackdown/MLG/GB/Whatever) I'll ask the makers (if he/she is a different person from the person posting a link) for permission to post the maps here.
Click here, the map Mojo it has been tested and made for splitsceen play. I'm afraid it's the only one that I've got in Reach.
I have a ton on my fileshare I can give to you some time, man. I'll post them here if you'd rather me, though.
Framerate generally isn't an issue on maps that small even in splitscreen and there's a huge selection of 1v1 maps. Most weeks more good maps that size were released than good BTB maps in Reach's entire lifespan. I'll list a few of the ones I liked though. Ark by mingo Hollow Crown by LD Eightball and Blaze have so many good small maps I'm not even going to try listing them all
Links on Forgehub would be appreciated; the list itself will be on Forgehub, as it is much more accessible to other users than my hard drive. Mojo also reminds me to ask for preferred gametype as well. Editing the OP. @Pyro Framerate most certainly will be a factor in 4pl 2v2 maps. 1v1s, not so much, but there are still occasional maps with 2pl framerate. For example, take Angst (lol crap pun intended)... What do you guys think of asking for a picture of each map? I suppose that would help people know what they're DLing beforehand...
Search for all maps or threads by the user. Maps that size don't take long to make so you'll want to go through it by author. 4pl splitscreen is so rare you'll probably need to do your own framerate testing.
LAN, though. I don't expect it to be awful, but it should and probably will claim a significant slice of the 2v2 pie.
This may actually be a pretty tough search. As far as I know, two versus two's aren't usually forged with four players splitscreen in mind. Honestly, I can't say that I have ever played a two versus two with that many players on splitscreen. A good start would be Solo's maps given their built with a relatively miniscule amount of objects. There's also the maps from the previous two versus two tournament that span from Reconcile to Premise that may hold up well.
Audience, your links from the Mojo thread are broken with the new Waypoint thing. EDIT: NVM, found through FS link. Also hi, Auburn.
So you got it to work? I'll fix it if it needs it, but need to work on other things for a while first.
Does anyone know how to download maps using the new Waypoint system? It's confusing me.. can't find anything..
I do not know unfortunately, I don't even know how to find a screenshot. Anyways, my map Alerion survived a split-screen test in forgemode, but only on a version built in the coliseum. I'm not sure if that version is in my File share anymore, but you can check (gt: Remember Isao24)
